Once we're not getting any new races, wouldn't it be nice if Elezen's got an update?

And that's not okay. I can wear literally anything on my Hyur because everything looks good on me. A race shouldn't be limited to "suitable glamour" to hide its ugliness. :')

I play multiple races and very little gear looks good on every character. Every model has gear that looks better and worse on it.

Looking best in specific gear does not make the character inherently ugly without it.

Less neck would be nice. Also I think Roes are more in need. They both need changes.

Roes definitely need to stop looking like they're about to burst into song as they set fire to the gods in the background.

Don't get me wrong, Roe players. If cosplaying as an opera singer is your jam, good for you, but it shouldn't be the one look Roes can have.

The problem with Elezen isn't just their head, it's the shoulders. If you ever used a chestpiece with shoulderplates you would know what I mean, they're disproportionally huge and their shoulders are too far away from their body which consequently makes their head look even smaller than it actually is.

more faces,eye brows for male high landers,Horn/scale settings for au ra,different ears for Miqote,beards,more make up/face paint options,scars etc etc like i don't expect the character creator in this game to get some massive overhaul and it'll just be preset choices to mix and match but man i would like it if they stopped working on new hair styles and added more options to other parts of the character creator.

I would love if they would focus a majority of their time updating the character creator. I'd be fine with not having new stuff added for awhile if it meant we could have what you mentioned and to be able to change the color of our eyebrows in game, if we could have more than one makeup option on our characters, UPDATED older hairstyles. Some of our older hairstyles are so flat and badly textured!!


This pigtail hair has one of my favorite bang styles, but I can't stand how small and straight the ponytails are..

First I'll say this is not a jab at Elezen players, y'all just deserve better quality.

Ill be Frank, the Elezen race has a lot of issues. The most common complaints are that their heads are way too small and their walking animations are stiff. In most other games, elves are insanely popular but in FFXIV they aren't because they look really awkward. There's also a lack of face options compared to other races.

Some might say their small heads are a racial trait. Look at their proportions in the concept art, their small heads are absolutely not a racial trait.


With the dev team wanting to stop with adding more races, I was wondering if it would be possible to update older races, especially elezen. Making their heads a little bigger, adding more varied faces and adding mocap animation shouldn't be too much of a problem I think.

I think western designed elves would look much better, to be honest. Elves are probably my favorite race to play in other games, no matter what kind of game. The playable race I really wanted in this game was like Hilda: Half elezen. And that's the most basic kind of elf, but I think they would look quite good regardless.. better than elezen in their current state, in my opinion.

I remember when I started playing with the character creator for my first toon and was going through all the options. I got to Elezen and thought "what in the sideshow hell is this?" The body proportioning is just so...odd? It's like when they were born somebody grabbed their head with a set of tongs and pulled too hard.
