I agree. I find myself often limited in what my character can wear because some pieces look ugly on her. I always have to choose my glamours carefully in order to hide the proportions' flaws, and this doesn't always work. At first, I thought all tall races had the shoulders issue and that I just had to live with it. That was until this one time I tried a chest piece out on my character and cringed at how it looked around the shoulders, but then I saw that same piece on a female Viera and was like: 'Wait a minute. That actually looks good.' It was then that I realized the issue lied inherently within the Elezen models. For some reason, the shoulders part of chest pieces become big on Elezen, and this becomes even more noticeable with shoulder pads. It's why one-shoulder pads are especially bad. They accentuate this flaw and throw the whole aesthetic off balance.

I agree; that is why I said in the post you quoted from that it would be preferable if a disguise were unnecessary.

I play multiple races and very little gear looks good on every character. Every model has gear that looks better and worse on it.

Looking best in specific gear does not make the character inherently ugly without it.

All armor and weapons are designed on hyur and them tweaked for other races.

it's like wow and humans/orcs. They pick a race and model around it. This isn't a new tactic.

That's why all your glams look good. it's also why a lot of glams look awful on other races, like, say, lalafell.
