As far as I know they never said it was a limited run (well, at least for Shiva as the company who makes them still says another batch is coming...in 2021, lol). Plus you were buying a statue and got a bonus emote with it.

Seems fine to me but honestly, people will always be upset no matter what you do.

(Though, to be honest, I wouldn't mind buying some FFXIV statues even without emotes...)

I bought the Shiva statue for the Shiva statue, the emote was a nice bonus(that I don't use that much). If SE decides to sell it as a stand-alone emote on the mogstation, I honestly wouldn't care.

I think the fact you get an emote or even a minion way earlier than others justifies it. You didn't buy the figure just because of an emote, yes? Then you shouldn't really care much about the emote either.

If you want the emote that bad just pre order the merch when it appears on mog station. It's usually up for pre-order 6+ months before release. The older emotes and statues are pretty much legacy items for legacy items like the Cait Sith preorder bonus. No need to re-release them.

If the merch can't stand on it's own, don't sell it. As for people paying $100 for emotes, I couldn't care less what they think.

Most aren't paying $100 for just the emote. They're buying the statue and view the emote as a bonus. Just putting that out there. Art does cost money lol.

They should just do what every other game does with limited edition stuff, give the people who bought it plenty of time to feel like they have something special and resell after a year or two. I would think after two years most wouldn't care or have the same kind of exclusive feeling tied to said purchases (thats if anyone even puts that kind of value into the emote compared to the statue anyway)..
