Healers should have more offensive spells then. Dps Healers are quite fun to many people. But to some, it's not their taste. FFXIV can have diverse healer styles that can appeal many people' tastes I guess.

I see it otherwise. Healers should get reasons to heal. Because if i play a healer then i want play a healer ond not a (crippled) DPS job.

Out of all the MMO's I have played, I would say FFXIV has the most fun combat. I love that almost every skill in our book has a use and a place on our bars. The rotations have a good flow to them, rather then button mashing many other games have as combat.

The combat system is what someone below the first post described as comfy, and that's what they are aiming for and have achieved.
Within the system, two things would be something I wish was changed before 2.0
1. The limit break system, I would have liked more utilization. If you have 2 lb bars, then you should be able to perform 2 lv.1 lb's. You could always put a resistance debuff to prevent spamming the two sam limit breaks. OR do not make the limit gauge completely deplete after using limit break. If you have 1.5 limit break bars and use a level 1 limit break then it would be nice to have that .5 remain.
2. I enjoy the glam's people have on. Just can't see them much in combat because you have to zoom so far out with your camera. I would have liked it more if the combat was tailored to allow us to zoom in more with our party so i can see some, not all, of the details people put into their glamours.
Woah there..you telling me that McDonalds crapburger is as wonderful as the glorious Wendy's burger? ...that's it...there's no compromise to be had here. Imma head out. Taking Dave Thomas and the talented person(s) behind their twitter account with me. You're lucky In-N-Out isn't here! /cryThis is why I said "Why level two regen or shield healers if they have the same function?" "Why level all the tanks if they all have an aoe combo and a burst window?". It's like having 4 different fast-food cheeseburgers when they are all basically still a cheeseburger.

It gets the job done, but I feel it would be far better if they went with the more action oriented style we have seen of recent games.

I have a love/hate relationship with it.
I do love the aesthetics and playing on a controller but to me a lot of each job is down to pattern memorization: Do this rotation exactly like this to be good.
Someone on the first page mentioned more think on your feet moments and I'd agree with that. WoW has fewer buttons for rotations than FFXIV but encounters are usually more complex and there are some emergency cooldowns.
As a hunter nailing my rotation means skill.
But if I am stuck in an aeo, pop aspect of the turtle then jump and disengage to launch myself backwards into safety that is also a skill move. Individual moments like that are not very common in FFXIV
I like the controller setup, usually it isn't really good in the MMO i've played.
For the actual combat, i don't like it that much. There's no room for improvisation, you just learn the right rotations and you stick to that.
Feels like i'm doing the same thing most of the time.

I don't play any MMOs other than FFXIV and I'm also not into raiding so I feel like I don't really have enough of an idea of what would qualify the combat in this game to be good or bad. It's fine, I guess? It's pretty different from most of the other games I play. Clicking (I play with mouse + keyboard) on certain enemies in order to target them can be a bit of a hassle when there's a lot of stuff on the screen at once, but it's more of a minor inconvenience.
I've only been playing since May 2021 so I don't know firsthand what combat in the older expansions was like. I also mainly play the game for the story so combat isn't really a high priority for me in the first place. So long as it isn't too infuriating I'll probably be fine with it.

So here the Issue with ff14 gameplay. Close to server no Issue, but far from the server you see the irks. Like double weave might be impossible we right amount spell speed/skill speed for certain players. Double can still be pain in the ass even with right amount spell or skill speed due to the nods of SE provider. Trust me, When the servers used to be montreal aka in my province. The game have no flaw on my eyes at all and could double or triple weave at ease. When they move oh boy, the game used to be perfect to buggy alpha release of a game. Everything was frustration and no fun. I have to pay a gaming vpn to ease the frustration, however I should not have to do that on monthly sub but whatever. Anyway going back to the gameplay, single weave please on jobs.
