Taking a break, would like to vent a little...

Come to Balmung. Most social spot in the entirety of FFXIV. You will usually find me in Steps of Nald in Uldah around the X-10 an Y-8 doing either Push-ups, sit-ups, or squats. Just pick a spot next to me and either start a conversation in Shout or in /Say. People are chatty and don't let the whole "ERP central" dissuade you...most of us don't do anything of that and just chat about whatever.

Right, I forgot about the visit or whatever. So this would be possible without me having to transfer. I'll think about it, maybe. I rarely have the initiative to actually start chatting with someone though.

So far as Endwalker is concerned, all I can really say is try it and form your own opinion. This is one of those scenarios where you really have to experience it for yourself.

For the OP: There is nothing wrong with taking a break. Whenever you decide to return, youre going to have plenty to do. Some of it highly thought of by the community, some of it not so highly. If possible, i would try to ignore the hype and equally ignore anyone harping on points they didnt like. This is your story, so you get to decide how you feel about it.

Damn, I'm playing a lot of different games while waiting for 6.2... I really should have told you this too, I'm sure you would have liked to know that!

Because it is a forum here to provide feedback - which the poster did in their post - and an avenue for discussion with other players? After all, the devs ask for feedback at the end of a sub, and this is but another venue for feedback. Why do you feel the need to question it? I'd maybe agree if the poster had just dropped a line to say they're taking a break, but it's not that, so...

Then I'd question your exposure to those other venues they mentioned. That or a case of wilful failure of comprehension.

I don't know a single person who said this. Everyone I know and everyone I watched stream or on YT loved it. Everyone even said "I didn't think Shadowbringers could be topped but they did it." response.

Then search a little wider. Either here, reddit XIV discussion, or if you wanna go farther afield, there is 5ch, and even some threads on mainsub reddit... I'd also question how authentic a view you're getting from many streamers given the reaction they typically receive to any critical commentary.

With that said...

I suggest not listening to other people's opinions about Endwalker and just experiencing it for yourself. The more you listen to others you will probably get spoiled.

I've seen a few posts on here mentioning that Endwalker apparently had a "lackluster story", among other things. I never bothered to read the posts myself - I'm wanting to go into END as blind as possible - but it was enough to make me mildly concerned.

Still hyped for the expansion, regardless; like another commenter said - seriously, how do I quote multiple comments in a single post? - I want to experience the expansion myself and draw my own conclusions.

On the bottom right of the post you want to multi quote there is a speech bubble with a plus symbol, clicking it will add it to a que so when you do 'Reply with Quote' to someone, it will also add that quote to the message.

Anyway, taking a break is never a bad thing. One of the great things about FFXIV is that there is little FOMO. I never felt like I was in a rush to beat the stories and expansions, outside of possible spoilers, which meant I could concentrate on doing post-patch raids and dungeons. Now more then ever it is designed to be tackled at your own pace. As for Endwalker, I 100% think you should play it to make up your own decision as others have said. Some really despised it, others like myself adored it (I will note however that I am the type of player who enjoyed Stormblood more then Heavensward haha) Art is always subjective, no matter the medium or quality.

Yeah you can world/Data server visit easily enough. Actually some of our MOST active chatty people are travelers anyway. It's about 50/50 between native and traveler. I Probably won't be on tonight cause having my friends meet old friends tonight for dinner but pretty much I'm on roughly around 8PM Mountain time. If I have a day off...my schedule is random.

Is it because I look like an 80s Bassist? That's how someone described my plate and it kinda was voted anonymously on the server that THAT was exactly it. And here I was trying to aim to look as close to Big Boss as possible.
