This forum is largely the only area I personally interact with the FFXIV community, so it's a brighter spot in a way for me too. Friended some from the forum outside of it too. I'd definitely rather discuss the game here than somewhere like Reddit.

Seriously it is basically the only part where both halves of the fan base are present and everything just devolves into arguments, Facebook groups and the main reddit sub are overwhelmingly casual focused, the shitpost and discussion subs are overwhelmingly high end focused so generally you know what playerbase you are talking to

The Trust system is designed to be slower than a group of actual players doing the content.

The devs want players to play with other players but realize that that is sometimes easier said than done for some. Such as those with odd play hours or high social anxiety. Or those whose play style greatly differs from the majority.

This in regards to that point. Duty Support is not intended to be as fast as other players.

Some things can't be soloed, no matter how high level you get. T9 will not let you past the first phase without someone else to manage golems.

I’m also 99% sure you can just DPS down nael at this point, you could definitely do it in ShB and as far as I’m aware the squish was not favourable to coils so I believe you could do it on most DPS jobs at this point, it just requires pooling a certain amount of resources to burst her down when she enters golem phase

Come to Balmung. Most social spot in the entirety of FFXIV. You will usually find me in Steps of Nald in Uldah around the X-10 an Y-8 doing either Push-ups, sit-ups, or squats. Just pick a spot next to me and either start a conversation in Shout or in /Say. People are chatty and don't let the whole "ERP central" dissuade you...most of us don't do anything of that and just chat about whatever.

As for Endwalker... I dunno, I'm interested in it myself, but I've also heard that it's supposedly really bad story-wise, so I'm just a bit hesitant.

I don't know a single person who said this. Everyone I know and everyone I watched stream or on YT loved it. Everyone even said "I didn't think Shadowbringers could be topped but they did it." response.

To be honest, I just felt like posting it I guess. I saw that post a while back about a guy that rage quit on the Shb MSQ, gave me an idea to post my own thoughts and experiences, along with venting a little bit about some of my grievances.

Believe it or not, I've had a genuinely positive experience with you guys, in comparison to the Reddit and Discord; on the former from my experience, asking for help or having a dissenting opinion will just get you mocked and downvoted into oblivion. Meanwhile, the Discord was no real help in general; aside from some help with glamours and a few minor subjects, any "advice" I've gotten on gameplay was basically either "here's a vague guide, figure it out yourself", or in some cases "if you don't play this way then you shouldn't be playing at all", whereas you guys have given me both actual good advice and even so surprising amounts of encouragement, from my experiences. Yes, there has been some negativity, but the positive stuff I've gotten from you guys is a lot higher in comparison, and very much nice in comparison to elsewhere.
