    Though the individual MP bonuses are small, you also note that they add up to a respectable 120 MP which leads to my next point:

    Rather than to survive via large HP reserves like WAR - the original concept is for PLD to be a 'healing focal point' in battles -- to be evaluated in tandem with WHM. The PLD abilities: Divine Veil, Cover, and Holy Succor (all enhanced by the AF) make this obvious. Additionally, since jobs are balanced for party play, It is important to view PLDs survivability when paired up with a competent WHM.

    Since 1.21 hasn't been out long, it's easy to jump to conclusions based on PLD/Tank concepts from other games. In time, the more people play, the more they will become adjusted to the Cure-tank model and thus can provide more accurate feedback on it.

    That said, if people prefer to not play the Cure-tank, they always have the option of equipping Bloodthirst loaded gear and play more GLD or even MRD-Style.

    I think where they may have missed the mark is in the DEF area. Ideally, PLD should gain considerable DEF while WAR should lose some.

    this is why I included the totals

    how many cures does 120 mp buy you? I could always meld two +60 manathirst onto my cuirass, then where does that leave the PLD set? (or even better a +50 and a +70 because the outcome is more likely to be successful.) Personally, I'd much rather have VIT and HP on a cuirass, but I used MP for the sake of argument.

    Hopefully in the future we will get a way or ways to upgrade the JSE/AF gear, something that is worth while hopefully.
