New savage raid gear has weapon and armour effects. Thoughts?

honestly, in a game with as much show off as FFXIV, it seemed strange to me that there were still no armors with this type of effect. For example, redmage's LB3 is capable of blinding anyone.

I'm glad that such an option appeared in the game. As a person who left WoW, I was very used to this kind of effect and I missed it. And for those who don't, let's just say we have other pretty solid options to choose from.

There were sets like that before. One of the really early crafted sets from ARR has a version with glowy VFX, then they stopped doing them until SB when the Elemental +1 armor from Hydatos was basically a neon billboard.

Finally, a savage set that's worth grinding for glamour! Looking forward to getting some new plates set up.

Bad time to be Viera i guess, hats are still missing. It's probably time to swap with those good looking armor

I think the caster and healer sets look okay but I don't like the helmets they have. Would have been nice if they had a hood/helmet with glowing eyes like the other sets. I also would have preferred if the healer set had the same purple/black color scheme and purple glows like the caster set. The WHM weapon is also not really my style.

Overall, I think I'll pass on these sets but I hope the others will enjoy them.

It looks great, I love that they are adding more VFX, as long as they are restricted to a few specific parts of the game I think it's fine.

The healer in the middle appears to be a Viera. Though the healer/caster headpiece appears to be a mask, so unsure if the other sets will support Viera as they cover the head more.

If they're going to do this with Savage, make the normal gear dyeable. It's silly this far into the game's life that being able to dye is considered a viable reward and not something standard across gear.
