...isn't what's on the ToS about "inappropriate messaging" (paraphrased) already enough of a stance? Sexual or Suggestive stuff is against it as far as I'm aware. It's why they banned people with inappropriate Character Portraits.
And you sure you want another thread on this?
Also? Yeah, if the people in a certain portion of the community is fine with it and you're not, why are you there? Just move away!!! It's not for you, nor does it have to be.
If they're in your party, however, then yes, feel free to report those people because that stuff should be private. Apart from that, why are you going there directly and be bothered that people do this? Odds are it's just trolls anyway.
if you are a perfectly christian person, you might want to consider moving elsewhere. *looks at main world* What is someone from Bryn doing on there anyways if they don't like how balsy mung is? Or go play minecraft. I hear a lot about those servers they have for christians like you.
No, you misconstrue what I said (or troll?), which might be why you don't get what I'm saying:Your post claims it's against the ToS, yet you are telling me to move elsewhere because I do not appreciate ToS violating grotesque messaging in all open communications.
What is your actual argument cause it doesn't make any sense.
And I am aware of the ToS, however a page of rules is seemingly differing from the actual execution and I may have been mislead on what kind of game Square-Enix wishes to foster.
I'm saying that if it's affecting you directly in parties and groups, then yes, that is a reportable offence.
If you're going to Balmung directly and you're seeing it being spammed all across the world, knowing full well it's a portion of the fanbase that specifically is alright with it and that the world has such an environment, why are you even there to begin with?
It's like going to the bad part of town and complaining it's the bad part of town... yes, we know. If SE actually enforced their rules a bit better, then it likely wouldn't be. But as said: it's a world that is okay with such an environment, meaning reports aren't going to be common nor widespread. So SE lets them be. And for the record? Yoshida has already stated PUBLICLY that they're actually NOT okay with that being done out in the open, even if it's a part of the game known for it.
You'd be the one going to them. If they're coming to you, ok sure, that's an issue. But if they're in their own world and you're complaining that you visited and saw shouty messages about it, then that's on you. You know how Balmung is, everyone does. So why did you go to be offended by it if you knew you'd be in a place that would do it?
Weren't you quitting FFXIV after that last thread you did about saying the community was no better or different than any other MMO? Why would Square want to give you direct comment if you were already unhappy enough to threaten quitting?
Beyond that, I'm sure you understand that Balmung is a community all its own, and if there aren't enough genuine reports of such behaviors, then there's nothing Square can/will do to enforce rules there. They likely don't condone a lot of the behaviors that go on, on Balmung, but since almost nobody there is reporting anyone for anything serious it's likely something Square and Yoshi are aware of, but aren't going to go poking around to find out more about. That'd mean a lot of lost subs, you know, and it is a business first and foremost.
Anyway, I don't think your fake outrage is going to do anything.

Are you reporting people spamming inappropriate language beyond a PG-13 level? They do suspend/ban people for doing so, from experience. Also, /blacklist them immediately and my chat peace of mind expands greatly. There in every instance or lobby on the Balmung the /shout and /yell are flooded with the most inappropriate messaging. The same users, years later still posting. Even in /say chat, even in /alliance or /party.
Everyone on this server is seemingly okay with openly saying the most grotesque things imaginable and this is no hyperbole there is disturbing messaging I see everyday when I play this game on this server.
Which leads me to a point, clearly if it's gone on this long then Square-Enix and Yoshida actively support this community. The staff and moderation are actively okay if you send sexual and/or grotesque messaging. They are okay if you have inappropriate or offensive usernames as well.
So Square-Enix, what is your stance on the Balmung sex community? Because as far as I can see you actively support it and I would like to hear a clear stance from the actual company.
Every character I have is on Balmung and I still have no idea what the OP is talking about. All of the "18+" shouts for venue advertisements have nothing to do with sex outright. They are advertising a bar and nightclub scene more often than not which obviously is no place for children. Not that you can do anything other than take someone's word for it that they're 18. Granted I never go to these venues, so maybe it's completely different in person?
hmmm.
1. Not on Balmung so why do you care?
2. only 5 posts...I smell troll.
Let's watch and see what happens!
