Thank you also. It's given me the idea to start a campaign to get players to use the in game tool for housing feedback instead of us just venting our frustrations into the forum void.Thank you for all these suggestions, and for maintaining a civil discussion with me. I did not consider the feedback area of the support desk, and I will use this feature, like you said.
I'll be honest, I don't feel bad for calling them out. It's their own fault they were that easy to find. Had they not dickwaved on their 13 houses and claimed every single plot as theirs, I would have been none the wiser.
Edit: Now they've removed the discord, and edited all their tags and changed many of their near-identical guild names. Guys, no need to scramble. If the majority of this thread is to be believed, you're safe in your hoarding. Carry on.
You guys still abused the system and brag about it, not even trying to hide... you can throw as many fancy words as you wish but that wont change the fact...
Yes totally clean an nothing shady going on :3theirs, I would have been none the wiser.

They do ask on mogstation the reason for unsubbing. Not a survey though but they get some hint to why from their selection of questions.
Unfortunately there probably wasn't anything shady going on. SE has left plenty of wiggle room in the system for those players who want to own multiple houses at the expense of other players who will then no longer be able to get one due to the limited supply.
"Owned by buyer" is a hula-hoop of a loophole that's easy for anyone to step through if they want to put in the time.

Feedback left via the service desk to this effect. I suggested that it might help to place a limit of one FC house per service account - this won't solve all problems, but it's at least one barrier.
Personal housing is a whole 'nother monster, and it's above my pay grade to solve. But the FC limitation seems reasonable to me.
No. That’s a terrible suggestion.Feedback left via the service desk to this effect. I suggested that it might help to place a limit of one FC house per service account - this won't solve all problems, but it's at least one barrier.

It would depend on how SE defines "what is a free company house on the account".
Example: I have my Coeurl FC with friends' alts that come and go, and it has a house. Technically, it could be considered my house since I'm the only constant online in the FC.
I also have an alt in a FC lead by my cousin and her husband on another world. Their FC has a house as well.
Would that constitute 2 FC houses on my account? Would I have to give up being on one of the FCs to get down to the one FC house requirement?
I don't think that limiting the number of FC houses on an account is the way to do it. Refining who is eligible to purchase a house for a FC is. If someone has a character on their account in a FC with a house and has another character join a FC that doesn't have a house, they shouldn't be eligible to enter the lottery on behalf of the other FC. Theoretically, the FC will have other members who would be capable of entering the lottery si the FC wouldn't be disadvantaged.
Of course there would still be ways to exploit the system even with that rule but it would make it more difficult for players to obtain multiple FC houses for personal use.
(Insert obligatory "if we had a good instanced housing system, such discussions wouldn't be necessary because every player and FC could have a house of their choice without need for such limitations")
This is better thought out than what I wrote. I didn't really think through the implications of how house ownership is passed when FC members become inactive.I don't think that limiting the number of FC houses on an account is the way to do it. Maybe a better addendum to my original thought would be one house per FC per world - but fixing the eligibility for purchasing is better, honestly. You're right, it would still be abused. But there's got to be a better way than the current system, where one player can have 8 alts with 8 FC's and 8 houses.
Also here for instanced housing. It's the thing I miss most about Wild Star - maybe add some kind of common area per "ward" with easy links to others' houses so the neighborly feel is still intact.
Ah well that is good to know then thank you, it's been many years since I "unsubscribed" and there wasn't one at the time.
Although I have to now wonder is this only if you cancel an active subscription? Anyone who subscribes with gamecards wouldn't get this I assume.
Still at least there is something...
