I mean, the only Discord I've ever seen promoted on here is by Rulakir for y'all to echo chamber amongst yourselves.

If there are any edgy pro-Venat comics with WoL going into "Hydaelyn Trance", I haven't seen any.

What'dya mean there's no "edgy pro-Venat Hydaelyn Trance" comics?! It's called canon Final Fantasy XIV. I can't browse Google for literally anything regarding this MMO without running into mountains of Venat fanart, some of it veering rather disturbing into borderline sexual content involving Venat and player's Warrior of Light. Considering all this, it's rather odd that some seem all too eager to gear up in their arms and armour the moment any pro-Zodiark art surfaces out the ether.

Also, that Discord exists because those who don't worship Momma's feet aren't often particularly welcome here on these forums. Every now and then, some of us players like to discuss what we do and don't like without our threads that we went out of our way to separate from y'all's to not disturb you getting invaded and brigaded by those that could'a just chosen to stay away from said thread (kinda like some on here tell us to consider, eh?). This is no crime, and I don't believe for a second there are no pro-Venat Discords out there. I'm sure there are Plenty (hah! It's a pun!) out there, just because you haven't seen any hardly means they don't exist.

At the same time, playing off people's emotions by repeatedly "killing" off the same character is a cheap way to tell a story. Plot armor gets really really tiresome. You can 100% have impactful and meaningful deaths of important characters as we have seen in the past. The issue is that they have made systems that require those characters to be alive now, so in my mind it is impossible for a main character to actually die anymore so any attempt at it feels even cheaper.

Pretty good point. Plot armor is becoming pretty boring, and even if it dosent have as much of a gutpunch feeling, rather then just needing to kill people off, could always do a forceful retirement of them. Call me crazy, but Thankred should have been done after the Dad V Dad fight in shadowbringers. They made this whole big deal of him "pushing his body to its very limits" and blah blah blah. Having him basically cripple himself in a fight for the sake of of an adopted daughter would have actually made me care alot more. Plus that scene after the fight is SOOO impactful until you see him sitting on some stairs perfectly fine.

It's also funny that you bring up Discord when you and your buddies have a Discord that is promoted in here for the people who all have a problem with the game and tend to reply back-to-back from each other.

So yall don't think Stormblood, shadowbringers and Endwalker didn't have teeth because a minor character didn't die? First off plenty have died. Second character death is a fairly cheap way to tell a story. That death and the one in 3.0 were so impactful because we weren't expecting them. You can't really repeat it over and over and expect it to have the same effect, not when this community is constantly raising death flags with every trailer.

Yes people died, but were any really that central to the plot or team? I barely remember, but here we are still talking about Harchefant and Monbryda. We are even still dealing with them even in 6.0, going so far as having a major moment of reconciliation with her parents in 6.0.

You can find that for literally any noteworthy character in the game. Venat is just more noticeable right now because she's the latest one.

I mean, seriously, I've stumbled across some for primals and beastmen. And not just the more human-looking ones like Shiva. The internet is a disturbing place.

I've seen questionable fanart of WoLs with everyone. Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus too. Emet is more of a non-Scion poster character than Venat in my honest opinion.

Yeah, this is actually really true. That's one of the problems that later seasons of Game of Thrones had; characters were dying just to fulfill the usual "shocking death" quota, no matter little sense the death or the actions which led up to said death made. (Varys, my poor sweet summer child.)

And once again, "people" can only think in extremes. I guess we either kill main characters left and right or give them all plot armor and make any encounter lose it's teeth since main characters can't die. And people wonder why entertainment is so stale and stagnant. lol

When anything else happens, people cry that it's a fakeout and it's cheap and they're pandering to the masses. Y'shtola gets wounded by Zenos and spends most of the expansion in recovery? Well, it's just a fakeout. Arenvald gets paralyzed? Well, they didn't kill him because they're pandering.

So basically people are gonna complain either way.

(Deliberately ignoring Ultima Thule, because honestly, the idea that anyone thought for even a fraction of a second that they were gonna actually kill off the Scions so abruptly, even without the plot device of Azem's crystal, is just laughable.)

I loved shb and ew. Hyped for where the story goes now. I think my only gripe is characters feeling unkillable so that end moment in EW didn't hit me as hard as it could have if I actually felt like they might not make it back. I am hoping with us setting out on our own again we meet a new cast of characters that don't have plot armour. Bring back some intensity of 'oh shit they might actually die'
