The entire opposite of NA. They dont know the mechs, dont study them, and demand hand-holding.
Truly mindboggling

*nod* Folks just que in the USA without bothering to learn it at all. Has lead to nobody wanting to que for them at all who actually knows how. Because people won't learn in advance, the jp system won't work.
Too many of them for folks to just use a blacklist to weed them out too.
That's just the west in general, lol.*nod* Folks just que in the USA without bothering to learn it at all. Has lead to nobody wanting to que for them at all who actually knows how. Because people won't learn in advance, the jp system won't work.

Europeans would like to disassociate with this claim, thanks.
But honestly, what is up with all these takes like "EX takes too long to learn or requires a YT guide" or "we are not interested in joinixng a duty only to wipe for 90min", like what?
I do Mentor Roulette BECAUSE it contains EX and the best roulette of my life was us failing Nidhogg EX to the very end but learning up to phase 3, hell even I did not do the fight synced yet, I LEARNED from it.
So really, if you don't like doing synced EX due to personal skill issues or not wanting to risk some tougher times then that is you, but none of this actually speaks against this as a roulette.
Only thing it needs is a prevention again iLv manipulation, something Alliance Raid Roulette badly needs as well.
Thats no diffirent to the first trials in the EU. Its because they are part of a questline, so the expectation is that no external sources are needed to learn.
To be honest though, in most extremes a mentor has just a macro explaining the mechanics in a rough way, and reading through that is generaly all you need to know. And this information could also just be supplied by SE themselve at the start of a trial. I know it will defeat the 'explore' part of finding out all the mechanics, but in the end, difficulty by obfuscation is often a bad thing to make things more difficult anyway. Obfuscation is only an artificial delay. For the hardest content it is a good way to slow down teams into completion, and it forces them to figure out the mechanics which is a completely diffirent skillset. But for extremes where 50% of the players already fully know the mechanics, this no longer works.
But with that, i think that players should be protected to some degree by simply limiting the number of uncompleted content that can show. If someone never completed any lvl 50 ones, he should never get a lvl 80 one. And on that, i also think it should consider players based on whether they have completed it before, or not. Putting 8 new players together is asking for problems, you generaly want a better balance here. This might increase queue times though, but if that improves the experience, i would consider that worth it.
Idk why people hype up EU so much. I spent a few months over there, and got wiped almost daily in Expert Roulette by people from Moogle.
My farm runs of the weapons before EW was the most stressed I’ve ever been at any videogame. So many people who clearly didn’t know the fights joined and played with their eyelids. I will never forget all the food and potions wasted because tweedle dee over there thought their dps was more important than not dying to the tracking aoe followed by towers/meteors/you stand in them. I will certainly never forget five of them standing in front of Diamond’s beast form as it’s clearly getting ready to charge then were surprised they were sent to the shadow realm.
I do not seeing a extreme roulette appealing to most of the players unless you really incentivize them. Need something a long the lines of a lot of gil, special title that takes a long time to get, achievment mount that can only be gotten running extreme roulette. Kind of doing something along the lines of when it comes to hunts. Have title/mount at 1k extreme roulettes, 5k and 10k this may appeal to quite a few people.
Lol, that reward is worthless for any Extreme duty. I get that stuff by spending 20s on killing an A rank, why would I waste my time with randoms for such pitiful rewards?
