Because I've been groomed at age 14 (through ERP btw) and I'd like as many underage people to be safe from this as possible? I shouldn't have to air that type of laundry in the first place, anyone decent should care about protecting minors from that type of things. God some of you people are vile.

I ask this because very frequently the most agitative and hot headed about this topic are doing this exactly to divert attention from themselves (the only thing people can do is project themselves onto others). Pushing ERP underground does nothing to safeguard children because communities reach far beyond the ingame chat. What we need is children to be properly educated and encouraged to talk about their feelings with a person they trust. A person that can give them guidance and advice. What we need is parents taking a healthy interest in what their kids are doing online and being that trustworthy person that the kid feels safe to share literally everything with. This doesnt mean you should force them like some stasi parents in this thread seem to think. If your parents were not there for you to be that person you trust then they have failed you.

Many societies on this planet a very good at looking away and not talking about things that make them uncomfortable. This is exactly what makes an easy playing field for groomers and pedos. I'm sorry that happened to you. The internet has shown me one thing however and that is that no one is as effective and as quick to accuse others of grooming than groomers themselves.

Every single time someone brings up that this is not an adult game and that there not being a way to check the age of some random catgirl they're gonna ERP with is dangerous there's always someone to sarcastically reply "bUt ThInK oF tHe ChIlDrEn" or to call them puritan. My question was "how is caring about the safety of children puritan". I didn't say anything about how to tackle the issue itself or why it happens but I'm seriously creeped out and sickened by some of the reactions I see every single time vulnerable people are brought up. Like I have never seen it being mentioned without someone trying to minimize the gravity of ERPing with a minor.

ERP between adults and minors happen, knowingly or not, and getting mocking and demeaning towards people who bring it up makes it look like there's either an attempt to ignore that they might be getting their rocks off with a 15 years old or that they are defensive over not thinking that such a situation is sick.

Acusing sombody of a crime or let it appear somebody has commited any crime without prove IS A CRIME with , depending where you life, nasty jailtime/fines attached and yes calling this out even on the internet can you get into trouble.

Next is the ERP problem is something that is firstly not a big case and secondly already dealt with. Its against TOS = report. Done and in extreme cases SE is even obligated to report this to the authorities and NO you will not notified what happend.
What you want is a crusade and lets be honest you try hard but the catholic church is still king but has nothing more to say in that regard and that is a good thing.
If you have prove of ERP with minors report if you think not enough go to the police but beware - my first sentence: if you are talking moggle boggle you will get a fine or even jail time for this. Be sure you dont talk nonsense.
