US tax rate is much, MUCH lower than ours here.

You want subsidized health care (that's what the Nordics have, it's not free) start paying half your income in taxes for it.

So, are ignoring how much we also pay for health insurance? Which can then refuse to cover things for arbitrary reason?

On top of it, the quality of care and wait times here are BS. Six month wait for a hearing appointment for hearing aids. SIX MONTHS.

I've had a cavity in one of my molars for eight months. It could've been a simple filling and crown, but my insurance has been waffling on it. Now it's a root canal, and it still took two months after that diagnosis to get an appointment. And my insurance is still making me foot a good chunk of the bill. And I actually have good dental coverage, otherwise I'd be responsible for the entire bill.

Meanwhile in Japan I made an appointment to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed in a matter of weeks, and when they realized I wouldn’t be able to work for a week, I got compensated for that.

Rather than pay for anything, I was given about 1,000 USD. And my taxes aren’t THAT bad, rather big companies pay their fair share.

It’s the weirdest story ever when talking to my American family “I tell y’all bout the time they PAID ME to remove my teeth!?”
