Can someone explain to me why ranged jobs have any CC whatsoever? I just can't wrap ahead around the logic that an archetype that plays at range also needs to the ability to bind, silence, heavy or stun melee. Also, why do range magical need gap closers exactly, on top of CCs and shield?
For Rdps. Because they need to kite and stay away from melee. Rdps also have the lowest hp next casters. Most if not all melee have a close gap. If Range didn't have cc then they'll be dead a lot more.
No comment on casters other then rdm. Rdm whole thing is stab stab boom.
The problem is CC is broken in pvp. Same self healing I feel.
Yoshi p just released stats and its official Reaper has the lowest winrate of all melee dps.

Only in EU. In NA it's the 3rd highest Melee DPS and it's #1 in both JP and "all regions combined".
Though, as I said in the W/R statistics thread, we lack vital information as to how they gathered up their data:
- When was the data gathered?
- Which ranks are included?
- What's each job's pick-rate.
Until we do, do not put too much stock in these stats.

If you take away cc from ranged jobs, you have to remove every single gapcloser from melee to compensate, otherwise noone would ever play a ranged job ever again in pvp.
Go and play a machinist or a dancer without using cc againt any melee right now, see how far you'll get with that.
You can go 1v3 as a nin right now, get a kill and still run away with little effort or problems, try going 1v3 as a ranged lol.

Dancers don't have CC except for their LB and gap closers for melee barely matter when ranged characters can just run away. The amount of CC needs to be drastically toned down, but ranged shouldn't be sitting off the crystal, pumping out damage and CCing people away from the fight. Even if one melee DPS goes after them, chances are they won't kill them, unless it's a NIN or MNK.
