Ah yeah sorry forgot to add the /s for sarcasm about not fitting the theme ^_____^""To find joy, even as darkness descends.. And amidst deepest despair, light everlasting.""
Sounds like it fits the theme quite fine.
But hey maybe Im wrong, maybe Aveyond and Theo are right, expansion sucks it really is a Cardinal Sin that Raha got to enjoy himself and eat a Hamburger. How dare he.
Nobody should be happy or eat a Burger
Though I wouldn't have gone with a Hamburger those nasty things give me a nice juicy steak!
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!

i would like to hear what your preferred outcome of this scene and how you would do it better Theo and Aveyond just out of curiosity, because i really don't see anything wrong with this scene as its a typical "calm before the storm moment" or just a nice moment with a group of friends like the camp scene in HW.
An appropriate rest moment for this expansion as I would have pictured it would have been things like setting up camp at different levels of the Lunar Subterrain as was done in FFIV: the After Years in between boss fights. As for a specific sequence set in Sharlayan, I would have firstly omitted the existence of The Last Stand or the various University Living elements found in the city state in favor of something that gives off a more foreboding sense of tension. I may have changed the city itself from a hub to a hostile zone or even a dungeon.i would like to hear what your preferred outcome of this scene and how you would do it better Theo and Aveyond just out of curiosity, because i really don't see anything wrong with this scene as its a typical "calm before the storm moment" or just a nice moment with a group of friends like the camp scene in HW.
Underneath a red sky, I would have the party camp out on the stony shores of the beach after emerging from a cavern connected to Labyrinthos, likely after having confronted a major threat in the zone before moving on to deal with the Sharlayan Forum. I would have substituted burgers for either canned goods retrieved from Labyrinthos or a freshly killed animal roasted over a fire, and rather than a cheery attitude the party would be more visibly shaken and emotionally vulnerable, which is the key to really being put in a situation where one must overcome overwhelming despair.

Aveyond, this will literally blow your mind, but did you know... in every disaster, every catastrophe, rescue and medical teams have this thing called a mess area, where they sit down and *gasp horror*, eat, drink, rest, joke, laugh and talk.Because it took place in the expansion about the end of the world.
Really.
They do.
Congratulations, you just removed a massive part of character development and story, not to mention the Ameliance Custom Deliveries, Tataru's storyline, all the vendors, the entire Studium craft / gather questlines, sidequests, the ferry back to Limsa, the entire background for Sharlayan and the Forum storyline, which took us TO Labyrinthos...I mean really, you want to remove ALL the open world content for one dungeon? As for a specific sequence set in Sharlayan, I would have firstly omitted the existence of The Last Stand or the various University Living elements found in the city state in favor of something that gives off a more foreboding sense of tension. I may have changed the city itself from a hub to a hostile zone or even a dungeon.
Why on EARTH would Sharlayan be a hostile zone? How could you even begin to explain WHY in lore terms???
You DO realise that the Studium is there to level crafting 80 - 90 and to provide scrips and content? That those vendors also provide the recipes for advanced crafting? That thats where the AF gear is provided? Going to remove THAT too?
No Sharlayan means no Ragnarok, youve also wiped the ENTIRE Loporrit arc, thats MORE content gone..I mean I keep seeing what you want removed and what i dont see is what you want to put in its place..a dungeon provides maybe 20 minutes or so ..wiping out HOURS..DAYS of content...
Oh and BTW I asked earler and you never answered
WHO says Minfilia is 'widely disliked"?
WHO wants Yshtola "retired'?
Mate, word of advice, never go into MMO creation..youd last five minutes before they threw you out.

Huh...I didnt expect to hit the Nail on the head. You literally just want Misery XDAn appropriate rest moment for this expansion as I would have pictured it would have been things like setting up camp at different levels of the Lunar Subterrain as was done in FFIV: the After Years in between boss fights. Now personally, your 1st post above would work with setting up camps, if the narrative was slower. Every single time something was done, then they'd have to take a break. And if aetheryites didnt exist, nor airships, and if the adventures and journey was ALOT more vast, like the next city behind A WHOLE day away, then needing to hunt and rely on rations/Canned good would make sense.
This is something that works in a single player story-driven game. But Im not confident it would be as favored in an MMO, the pacing...might feel kind of slow. To many slow moments with nothing happening isnt good storytelling. Sure it sets up the world, but you shouldnt need to spend THAT much time showing the view/reader the world.
There is no reason why another hub city and associated npcs could not have served the functions you have described. I would have preferred one set in Ilsabard, or perhaps within a larger sized space ship. By speaking to a variety of players you will gain different perspectives as to what should be done with the characters you mention. The voices of those who want the Scions retired has only increased with time.Congratulations, you just removed a massive part of character development and story, not to mention the Ameliance Custom Deliveries, Tataru's storyline, all the vendors, the entire Studium craft / gather questlines, sidequests, the ferry back to Limsa, the entire background for Sharlayan and the Forum storyline, which took us TO Labyrinthos...I mean really, you want to remove ALL the open world content for one dungeon?

Ok so what was the 2nd visit to Labyrinthos? If they want to make FFXIV cater to those who favor single player games (like myself) then I will hold them to that standard. This is something that works in a single player story-driven game.
