VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

This is one thing I am happy they didn't take from previous viera design. The feet just looked weird, in my opinion. Plus viera do get foot gear out of the deal. Said all this before though.

I know I'm part of a minority that prefers paws over feet. But it could be optional: choose between feet or paws. But what to expect from a company that wouldn't even be able to make glasses for vieras, if it weren't for the employees working the day off. What about a poor beard for Hyur, where they had to make a new face just for that? Shame...

I'm wanting the new WoW expansion to take all the glory out of FFXIV, so maybe SE will wake up

I'd say this is being too hard on SE. If they would have done the custom feet, it would have been an easy out for them to not do any foot gear for the race. Making it an option would be a bit odd, in my opinion, but maybe as a different tribe?

I think Yoshida has said before how difficult it is to add new customization options, like a limitation, if they had to duplicate face to add a beard, there are some serious issues going on. Granted, the face stubble face could have also just been an easy way out of doing it proper, much like with hrothgar earless styles. I'm concerned with how long it took for him to acknowledge people wanted the option. If I recall, he was surprised people wanted it. There seems to be a pretty big disconnect here.

It's unfortunate about certain headpieces that could make or break a glam. I know a lot of people are sad about their RDM hats in particular!

Yes, I have said this before myself as well. I have some ideas in mind for hairs, hairs in general really, but I don't think I have the skill to really bring them to life. A hair contest for viera and hrothgar could turn out well. It'd at least show that SE cared, even if the ideas are coming from the community!

Yeah. It's one reason why I haven't leveled a good chunk of my mage jobs yet. RDM and BLM look so incomplete without their hats. It's a travesty, is what it is. :'(

I'll make sure to say hello next time. I've been all over the place, doing MSQ and getting sidetracked by beast tribes and job leveling. Lol. Aww... The glamor community of FFXIV is pretty interesting, though! I think it's a good exercise in creativity.

Maybe they could put it as a subrace. For example: Veena for the most human, and Rava for the most "wild", with claws and paws. It would be something much more interesting than what we have today. I can barely tell if I chose veena or rava, as the only thing that changes is the color of the skin. Since it's such a subtle change, I didn't bother to memorize what is Veena and what is Rava.

The hat problem, and supposedly the shoes problem, the true is they just don't want to spend money on it. I came to this conclusion after installing Blender this year on my computer, to see how difficult it was to modify a finished project. It took me a week to make it work the way I would like, I wonder what a person who already has knowledge of the program could do.

As for the disconnection between the company and the public, it's something I've always noticed at SE. They don't know what's good about them, and what the public wants (or else they only listen to Japanese players)

I don't generally use hats, so I get by. Also funny, since most of the headgear I use is usable by viera, so no headgear doesn't really directly affect me. Yes, it is! I've always thought that viera should have gotten some iconic job pieces, like the RDM hats!

Yep, there is a lot of stuff to do for sure, your first run through. You should take your time and enjoy it! I'll be here afk wherever. It is! But people don't like it when I start spamming them paragraphs about my thought process or opinions on glamours! I have a tendency to start spamming chats, some of my discord friends can probably attest to this.. I love making glamours though. Just this morning I was thinking of more pieces this game NEEDS. Glamour and customizing my character is probably the main reason I play the game, and I will spend literal hours in an inn room going back and forth with pieces or hair... Uh, I will cut the glamour talk short here.

They need to STOP cutting corners in quality, in my opinion. That's where a lot of these issues arise. If they were making custom hairs, you'd think it would fit relatively well for viera... and hrothgar too.. Viera in particular NEEDS more actual viera hair. There's still a lot of viera hairs from past games even that they could do that would look great!

It's probably a bit too late for them to significantly alter rava or veena unfortunately. People are probably too entrenched in their current looks. I think this is a reason stated, at least users have said this, why they wouldn't alter elezen either, because elezen players generally like their look.

I know them both fairly well. Rava are the darker skinned, more iconic viera, while veena are the lighter skinned variant. Rava should also have more detailed eyes, and thicker eyebrows. My first preset was a rava, but later presets have been veenas. I have wanted to play a rava again for awhile. I actually have a new preset I made just yesterday. I make presets of characters all the time as well, I don't play the vast majority.. and that's me speaking as a fantasia addict.. So that goes to show how many I make..

I think rava has better features, more defined, but yeah, I would say even in miqo'te you see more of a difference between the clans.

I agree. I think the biggest problem here, and I've been saying that for awhile, is that SE simply doesn't want to do it. Frankly, I don't care if they don't want to do it, they should do it, and I will keep giving my feedback on the matter. The current quality of updates is unacceptable.

There definitely is a big disconnect with feedback, but as I just stated, I will keep giving it.

She was very pretty too. Viera deserve better!

I have quite the soft spot for white mage themed glams. Maybe (hopefully) one day you can be her again! WITH HATS!

I know it's just a moogle tome event, but every time I see an event, a new raid, or entirely new gear released, and some of the gear and rewards are unusable by Viera, I start to think that the talk of making everything compatible going forward was a lie.
