Perhaps SE could start the lottery only in the personal wards and delay it in the FC wards by 6 weeks? I don't know if they have that level of control to turn the lottery on and off by ward.

If they can't, then delaying it for all wards until 6 weeks after home world transfer resumes would make sense.

Or it may be they want to reward the players who got FCs started fast for new players. Those FCs would still rely on gil being transferred from other servers. Even the million gil bonus won't be getting paid out to characters created day one until the first entry period has ended.

For the record, Oceanic took from 2 to 3 months to open their housing.

What gives this only took 3 weeks ? Home world transfer has not even been opened yet, and most people did not manage to make an FC there or were too busy leveling.

This is screwing up everyone as people didnt even get a single chance to make fcs and to move there to get some communities going.

Housing opening on new worlds always has been multiple months, how is this any different and in particular how is it fair ?

While it's nice it's not a quarter long wait, but opening it on 28th July is WAY to soon. The worlds is not even a month old by then so no FC won't be able to get a house. They should've waited until 6.2 in august.

Are you missing the point that the server won't be even 30 day old by the time sales commence? No FC will be able to get a house when it opens. It's what people are frustrated about.

Considering an FC can't buy until it's 30 days old... I think it's a bit nonsensical for SE to open housing before the server is even that old!

No one until any FC reach 30 days old. Thing is anyone that create a new char there and made a FC since day one has a 2 week advantage. Not the end of the world just quite different compared to what used to be.

August 6th is the first lottery start for which FCs will be eligible.

Plots in the FC wards will have no entries in the first lottery period.

In the second lottery period, FCs that were started the first couple of days the servers were open would be able to enter - if they have the gil. That means they would have needed to transfer gil from their mains on other servers or buy it through RMT.

FCs that have been waiting for home world transfer to open to move wouldn't be able to start buying until end of August if they move this week.

You end up with questions regarding how many players thought it would be necessary to get a FC started immediately to take advantage of housing opening much sooner than most expected.

Private buyers

Private buyers will be unable to purchase plots in wards 1-12. Those are already designated as FC purchase only. FCs won't be missing out because of that, at least.

The announcement says the first lottery on the new worlds will start on the 28th (wards will be open for preview on the 27th). That means the claiming period would start on August 2nd and the second lottery period start on August 6th unless something disrupts the 5/4 lottery cycle.

That second entry period would last until August 11th, which would give FCs created before July 12th (or on it depending time of day it was registered) a chance to enter before that entry period ends (though not necessary on the first day of the entry period).

FCs created today wouldn't be able to enter until the third lottery period.

One thing that SE will know that we don't is just how many FCs have already been made on those worlds already. That number could be very small because of the lack of home world transfer. They may feel it's not enough for a majority of the "prime plots" to get purchased before the FCs being created this week are eligible.
