Roe are cartoonishly large. They tend to remind me of Darth Baras from SWTOR given how wide they are. Some of us just want some buffer, more grizzled looking humans rather than having to default to Diet-Shrek.
so just giving male high landers eye brows and more beards?
This is preliminary, remember. Final results pending. The right side one still looks like from 2010 or before if we are to be honest
So you got a type you prefer. Congratulations.
Can we drop the boring 'race-baiting' (humanity has only one race, BTW - The Human Race) and go back to the topic at hand; more natural masculine male character creation options.

If we're talking what we'd like to see, I'd love to be able to design a character closer to this guy in terms of height, physique and facial features:
I think the fitness model's name is Serge...something? Russian guy, highly attractive - which would fit well with the general aesthetics that modern Final Fantasy games like to lean into with the likes of Gabranth, Gladio and Snow.
Yea my first character is a Highlander and it was really restrictive, still not happy about the nose and eye shape limitations, that being said i have multiple male (and now female characters) and i agree we do need more options. I do enjoy my bunny boy character i think they do have the pretty boy look done by now.
Also its great that the OP included images for those who don't know what Males and Females are or its distinctions.
This post made me realize that even just a character creation option for a few different jaw styles would go a long way in alleviating the issue. It would just be a band-aid fix, but it would be a start! Anything other than just soft round curves or an anime triangle chin.If we're talking what we'd like to see, I'd love to be able to design a character closer to this guy in terms of height, physique and facial features:

Aye. A strong jaw really makes a difference. ESO may be a little dated on some fronts but I appreciate that it has enough sliders to sculpt a jaw and other features to my liking. I think that game came out in...2014? So roughly around the same time as ARR did. This post made me realize that even just a character creation option for a few different jaw styles would go a long way in alleviating the issue. Apparently the upgrade to character textures is just the 'first stage' of the graphical overhaul though I do hope the development team are rebuilding the models from the ground up so they can more easily add new options in the future.
