You could try Low-Latency Mode in the Nvidia Control Panel, but beyond that I'm also at a loss.

Like LittleImp said, it could just be the ported over character folder, but I've done the same for several characters between a Windows 7 Desktop and Windows 10 Laptop with no such issues that I recall. That could very well be it though!
