Again, I'm not your enemy here. Learn who your allies are.Sorry, but PL in FFXI was a whole different beast than it is in this game. Players actually still had to participate and pay relative attention to the action. By worlds, it was still much more entertaining than what we now have. Tanks still had to voke first, pullers still had to pull, nukers still got to nuke. We don't have any of that in this PL system.
I for one know PLing was a whole lot different in FFXI, though it was still boring to PL or get PL'd, period.
Never did I consider you an enemy in any regard, honestly. I'm perfectly fine to have a civil disagreement - even if it does get heated. I think some of the confusion on my part comes from what I see as an indefinite stance, toward the whole issue of PL as it exists in FFXIV, from you.
Back on topic, I disagree!![]()
My signature is edible. Go ahead, try some.
Okay, well your topics just seem... oh whatever. Forgive me.Never did I consider you an enemy in any regard, honestly. I'm perfectly fine to have a civil disagreement - even if it does get heated. I think some of the confusion on my part comes from what I see as an indefinite stance, toward the whole issue of PL as it exists in FFXIV, from you.
Back on topic, I disagree!
My problem with Power Leveling firstly comes from the inverse leveling curve that is experienced between 35-50, and secondly the fact that anyone can indeed solo EXP at any time. (If you were on Besaid and in my linkshell, or knew some of my friends, you would know I absolutely will refuse to PL or accept it.)
I didn't care about it that much in FFXI, because as you said, it at least required some sense of effort on the party members, and it still wasn't all that worthwhile.
For the record, I don't even like Level Sync and I didn't like it in FFXI either because when you were using Lv.Sync beyond certain levels, you were missing out on a lot of stuff you otherwise wouldn't have. But at least Level Sync gives us veterans the ability to be able to help newbies without ever having to give them a free hand (I mean hell, I would like to be able to sync my marauder down to my friend's newbies levels so we can duo properly).
