I'd move to these new servers, if I knew I could get a medium house or better. I also don't have the gil to do so, so all those houses will be gone by the time I would make the gil to get a house of that size. No point leaving for a small house, since I already have one.

Normaly, after the start of the server transfer service on new worlds they lock the housing for some months (i think it's 3 months) to give plenty time for people there to make some gil. Also, if you move to a new world having another house, you can be compensated with some gil (if you don't demolish the house) and you can take some furnishings with you (not all stuff, but...). The same goes for apartments. So, you can go to a new server with some gil to begin with the savings for houses there and have a decent time to make enough after transfering.I'd move to these new servers, if I knew I could get a medium house or better. Here's the thing.. I have expenses. Dyes mostly. Also, I don't craft. I think a medium is like 25 million gil or something like that. I have (had) 10 million.Normaly, after the start of the server transfer service on new worlds they lock the housing for some months (i think it's 3 months) to give plenty time for people there to make some gil. crafting is not the only way to make gil. You can use only the MB to make some decent gil (buying cheaper and reseling for a bit more), classic "drop and sell", etc. There are some tutorials about themThey work nicely in new servers.
But, this is up to you anyway. If you transfer you will need to put effort for the money and this can be annoying sometimes. I understand.
If you are well stablished, there is trully no reason to move unless you want to go for the challenge...
I'm moving my alts just to make money on them and maybe start my own FC. I never was a leader and maybe it's time for it after all those years jumping from FC to FC and helping them here and there on the way...

I used to make a lot of gil cluster farming. I burned it all. I actually had about 20 million before. Frankly, even getting like 5 million sounds impossible, well keeping 5 million. These pure color dyes are killing me. Maybe I could make the gil, I just wouldn't want to risk losing a house forever, if I'd have no chance. Doubtful I will ever get anything larger than a small on my current server for sure though.crafting is not the only way to make gil. They are 20ish but then you need to buy the estate permit which for a medium is probably around 2 million not sure exactly. Mediums and larges sitting open on Materia/Sophia with no bids. I don't suspect that'll be the case on the new EU servers when they open those DC's are pretty well established.
I’m guessing there will be a majority of FC wards at first so it’s 50-50 if we’ll see a bunch of small fc/shell fc trying to snag them. I know I will try my luck on both mediums and larges, but I will have the funds thanks to the transfer incentives. They are 20ish but then you need to buy the estate permit which for a medium is probably around 2 million not sure exactly. I'm sitting in a ward with no other houses other than my large FC and although I haven't checked them all this lottery cycle the ones I've checked have no bids other than a large with 1 bid. At least it appears I'll have at least one neighbor. I've personally bid on a personal next to my FC given I would like one for myself but also to prevent someone from buying it and putting up an ugly skin.
Materia needs some help to get people to transfer and make characters. Would be nice if they opened DC travel given it's taking awhile for the DC to grow and DF can be a struggle for certain duties especially 24 mans.
