Am i really the only one that dislike Yoshi-P ?

You're not alone. Although my personal dislike for the man doesn't have much to do with what he's done, but the cult of personality that has grown around him to an almost insane degree. I do think he has done some pretty distasteful things though, like fake cry on stream for sympathy, and stuff like that makes me kind of reconsider how much I think he's responsible for the weird obsession people have with him. Obviously none of this says anything about how he is in private, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but SE definitely takes advantage of the obsession people have with him and how it seems like he can do no wrong in their eyes.

And that really does sum up how I feel without going into specifics honestly.

Like... I don't hate 'em... yet at the same time it's shifted from genuine respect and then to haha funny meme before finally square just kinda trotting him out like a sideshow attraction for his fans to scream praise at. They're milking it, ignoring critique and it feels like they're not actually reinvesting back into the game anymore. He is - for better or for worse - this community's primal and his rabid fans are his thralls.

For all the crappy decisions he might make or business and cultural reasons he might ignore certain feeback... dude seems genuinely passionate about his work.

Yoshida is not a god... Nor is he a villain keeping the perfect version of FFXIV away from you out of malice, or even incompetence.

He is a human being whose is passionate about his work, and a focused creative vision.

Which causes issues if you exist outside that vision. Keep calling out things that dissatisfy you. Express worries about the direction of the game. But remember that people do exist that enjoy the direction the game is in. I have to keep in the back of my mind that there is a real possibility that FFXIV is successful and good, no negative qualifiers needed... and I quit because I don't like playing it anymore.

Now back to designing a healer with the gameplay I would like to see the healers in this game draw from...

Aye. I've noticed that whenever there's a controversy in the game the gaming 'journalists' will coincidentally push out a bunch of fluffy articles about how Yoshi-P is the man who turned 1.0's failure into a success. I always saw it as a team effort and as much about people giving the game a second chance because of the Final Fantasy name being attached to it. I don't think it would have succeeded if it couldn't appeal to nostalgia and had been a unique IP instead.

In his defense though, NA is a little crazy for various reasons. Still not a valid excuse to largely ignore us though. lol We have some wonderful ideas every now and then that get lost in the chaos, and while our feedback can be a bit...crass at points, I do feel that it should be taken into account a bit more as well depending on the subject. Sometimes we're mad over nothing, but sometimes we've got every right to be. Some actual communication would go a long way toward calming people down. We've got reps that we never hear from around here, and that is an issue in and of itself.

At the end of the day, it's their forum. The moderation standards are their responsibility, and besides, there is a lot of well-worded feedback here. If they don't like how certain discussions are being conducted, time to moderate better and get more CM involvement. Besides, we know Yoshi is referring to certain incidents in Japan, which the white knight community on this side tries to twist into something specifically directed to the forum, even with Yoshi not being specific as to what he was referring to precisely when making these comments - at least the ones of which I'm aware. I'm all for being civil and respectful in delivering feedback to the devs, but let's please not pretend that moderation of this forum is anything but their responsibility. They're willing to wade into Twitter and Reddit, which can be as if not more hostile (moderation there helps conceal a lot of the crazy.) It is like you said though, at a certain point, if feedback is routinely ignored/dismissed (healing being a prominent topic on that front), it does sour the interactions.

It really won't kill you to be polite.

Much like it wouldn't kill you to stop sticking "whining" tags on everything you dislike, right?

The trouble is the customers think they're in such a majority when they're really not.

Is anyone truly a fierce defender or do they just see through the BS that people post? I think it's more of the latter. People just get defensive and yell "white knight".

I think it's more of a case of people seeing through the BS of the white knights, so the white knights try tar any criticism with the brush of the most extreme voices expressing criticism more than anything. At least Yoshi knows (once knew?) not to get fixated over who is a "majority" or not, because frankly, that isn't how addressing customer feedback in the real world works. Really, most of us are interested in discussing what we'd like to see improved, and not engage in interminable debates with people who try distract the discussion with the usual concern trolling over the behaviour of a tiny few, which should be cleaned up by moderation.

I respect him for turning 1.0 around, but let's be real, a lot of the admiration and cult of personality this fanbase has around him is downright creepy and partially unwarranted, especially considering the issues the game has.

I also strongly believe that his personal biases affect both job balance (blm is untouchable, safe, very in-depth, secure, every other job gets ruined and simplified) and story direction (end of the world? How about MOON BNUUUYY) which annoys me to no end.

I think..this kind of thread is a terrible idea. Hear me out.
I've played a few MMO's over the years. When people get angry about game things, that's one thing, right? It's game stuff. but when people start targeting people on the team specifically...listen to me. Those people wound up quitting. I'm talking... GM/CMs, people on the art team, the director.. it's just not worth it. That's something I've learned for sure. It's not worth it to go after a specific person working on the game.

Because every single time-oh EVERY single time. After the person stepped down, the person who took their spot was downright evil. They were just cruel to the game and its playerbase. Prices would go up, more stuff became rng, the rng became harder and they wouldnt disclose the change percentages, there were more bugs that were never addressed, less nice costumes/mainly just reused clothes models over and over literally the exact same thing but a different color set, content was nonexistant and I dont mean once every few months I mean youre lucky if you got one single DUNGEON a YEAR-I could go on. I really could. and I dont want that to happen here. Do I think Yoshi is a god, no. But can anyone-I'm not even writing that out.

Gripe about the game. But try not to single workers out. That's dicey. That could lead to a future where we're all punished just because some people wanted to vent about how much they hated someone crucial like theyd gone and lost their minds. Again. You can feel any kind of way you want. but this..I dont know man. Show me a time it worked in a games favor and I might reconsider but so far every time this kind of post went up, it was just a disaster after. Some people arent worth pushing away man. and dont tell me 'oh he should be stronger' I dont care. I promise I dont care. Not worth it. Not worth it when they have more than enough money to easily walk away if they feel like thats what people really want.

absolutely not for the thing OP mentioned, that was actually a good thing to say. People were straight out threatening devs and a lot of other shit that shouldn't be flying anywhere. He never said people shouldn't complain, but have you ever heard of basic human decency and respect? people are just doing their job and getting a load of unwarranted hate for it and it's disgusting.

The sentiment over on the Japanese side of the fence seems to be that the development team don't really listen to them much, either.
