I'm glad it's postponed, as someone who heals on AST. I'm not a fan of how every time they touch this job, they gut some enjoyable feature from it (or give it to someone else). Maybe they can take this extra time to think about why people play a job like this in the first place and fix it accordingly. Like yeah everyone's different, but for me personally, astrodyne has done absolutely nothing for my enjoyment of this job. It's taken away from it, actually. I can't manage rng as well anymore because you removed sleeve draw and cut down on my redraws, so the astrodyne buff just ... is what it is, most of the time. There's no thought there. At least divination felt like you were actively working towards a good one, and you had ways to tweak the odds in your favor. idk man. I can't speak for drg since I don't play it, but I was low-key expecting them to just remove the cards entirely because someone complained about how hard it is to target people or something.
Speculating about it is just dumb imo to begin with. The issue is that most people think they are reworking something that does not need it right now. Dragoon at most maybe cpuld get Battle Litany merged with Dragon Sight so its only 1 button press, every 2 mins for both the raid buff and the damage buff on someone. They should allocate resources for jobs which need it more.
Also people are scared that by "reworking" they mean simplifying those jobs to the level of summoner or taking away their identity / core mechanic ( Kaiten).
They've done reworks in the past that have been very well-received, people just hyperfocus on the most recent fotm issue they have and then act like that one thing is going to like drive every single design decision the devs ever make moving forward.
It's especially silly when the reworks were delayed specifically because of negative feedback recently.
I don't think DRG needs a rework either but it's going to happen and it's just dumb of people to act like they know for a fact that it's going to be bad.
When people do that they're just going out of their way to be perpetually negative on purpose.
The devs have also made great changes recently that have been highly requested like the reworked Living Dead but people just ignore that and act like the removal of Kaiten is like the one thing that is the deciding factor for everything moving forward.
Yoshi-P said that they'll go into further detail about why changes are happening too at this point all we can do is wait, but it's honestly getting extremely tiresome how people are so totally unwilling to ever give them a chance with anything and then just ignore everything good they do.
My guess is we're also going to get larger system reworks for 7.0, the game is very old and I think 7.0 will be treated as a fresh start of sorts.
They've hinted on it and I think there's a lot of context we simply don't have of what's going to happen in the future.
They're not going to remove the cards, I think we can pretty safely say that.
I do think it's possible however they'll be more like the PvP cards tho.
