Why do Mi’qote ears go through Snow’s hat but not Hrothgar ears?

Don't let anyone tell you you're not justified asking for this. The way they handled Viera and Hrothgar as a whole is a joke.

I’m still wondering what a supposed lore excuse would be for why all Hrothgar like to keep their ears tucked in Snow’s cap but not a single Miqo’te. “The ears are hiding.” So why aren’t the Miqo’te ears?

It's getting worse for Miqo'te too by the way. They completely gave up on designing outfits to account for tails like they used to do and nearly all the recent head gear snips our ears off. They get 1 billion in cash every time they release a new meme mogstation outfit (that also snips everyones ears), can they really not hire and train one (1) new intern to turn on the ears switch and do some light modeling on head gear with all that dough? No? It seems forum PLDs are using Cover on their beloved multimillion dollar company and are telling me it's normal for SE to throw its golden goose under the bus and reinvest 100% of the FFXIV profits into other ground breaking projects such as uuuh... Babylon's Fall. Okay fine then guess we don't need our ears

How many threads need to be made about this issue? The devs explained the problems and yet it's never good enough.

They're cutting off Miqo ears now too for hats. Do you find that acceptable too?

You'd think it wouldn't take much either, one could make an argument for how they would do outfits that have capes, but they literally won't even do something minor like a bow to hide the clipping! Having several hats without ear holes, just does not look right. The fact that they won't even do them for premium outfits is concerning.

Please help me understand the attempted lore justification for this particular example, game designers; your “the ears are hiding” explanation doesn’t work for this hair option due to an illogical inconsistency between two different feline races that both have ears.

Are all Hrothgar making a conscious decision to uncomfortably tuck their ears under the hat, whereas no Miqo’te decide to do that? Why would the two races be different here?

Because Hrothgar were a mistake that's more trouble than their worth when made as a half measure/ limited race instead of a full one, same with Viera.

It should have been Viera as a full race with full options, then Hrothgar. But no, now they have all that backlash & still can't please everyone with said half measure.

I think most Hrots are voting with their wallets, because I haven't seen one of them wearing the earless wigs.
I wonder what kind of justification FF white knights will come up with when their fav Miqo character get their ears/tail removed.
I doubt they'll say vote with your wallet, JUST UNSUB!
It might happen at this point with their increasing laxyness.

The most annoying thing with Miqo'te ears is that they used to be made visible on hats, so the ability and the models are there and usable by the devs.

Also when they did get ear pockets, they were almost always the wrong size and shape for where the ears actually sit.

I recently went over some interviews for an argument in another thread. Hrothgar looking the way they do was/is only possible by being severely limited. Viera ears being on the top of the head, rather than the side of the head is the limiting factor. I do also think they shouldn't have done these races unless they would have been "full" races with no limiting features.

I hesitate to say we should have gotten viera wholly over hrothgar, but they most likely would have been easier to not make limited. Either way, now we will have two full limited races, and there doesn't seem to be any intent by SE to change things for the better.

I've seen hrothgar not only wearing earless styles, but the new outfit that they can't even see the hat on. At least a few running around. I'd say hrothgar largely don't use the hairstyles though, I wouldn't say it's really "voting with their wallets" since these hairstyles were a free update. If anything, the devs will just take this as meaning they don't have to do hairs for hrothgar very often. Actually unsubbing isn't really happening.

I'm personally pretty happy with the state of Viera right now. We should be getting more hairstyles regularly. They certainly need to fix Hrothgar and quickly not make them wait another year or more. Relative to helms/hats I would hope they'll get some attention as well. Lets remember female hroths are still under development and hopefully when that is done the time can be spent addressing the needs of both races more.

I suspect we won't see females until 7.0 but would love to be surprised.

I'd like viera to receive some quality custom made (racial unique) hairs, but that seems like that won't ever happen unfortunately. Hopefully they can increase the quality of how they fit shared hair at the very least, or release some shared hair that actually would/will look good on viera.. I'd also like viera to receive some more select headgear as well, especially iconic pieces, at some point.

I really don't get the decision they made to not show Hrotghars ears with the reason of "clipping is not good".

If we look Au Ras and miqo'tes using capes, we wont see "tails clipping good" as well but they are there still... '-'
And you can easily see weapons "not clipping good" through a LOT of gears too...
The same goes to gear and hairstyles for all races...

If the problem is "not clipping good" they should be doing a lot of work to clip almost everything better for each weapon, each gear and each animation for all races...

The playerbase DON'T CARE about "not clipping good", we just want ears for Hrothgars and hats for Vieras. And as we can see in some answers here, these are really easy things to solve. They just lack the will to do it and the respect for the playerbase's desire...
