I have...Ive played more games then FFXIV. I just named Mass Effect and a handful of Characters from Dragonage.
Surely you didnt miss that, or did you just ignore it?
Does my enjoyment of FFXIV cloud the idea that Ive ever touched another game, read a book or saw a movie?
Pretty silly

I can say I've consumed pretty much all of the stories and media you have. Or, at least the ones mentioned in this thread. While FFXIV cast aren't exactly a master class, they're pretty memorable. I'm sure you disagree, but that disagreement is not an objective opinion.
Not that it's all that important, either way. The Lunar RPG series had some of the most cliched characters ever, and I doubt anyone here could even name all of them without Googling it. But they were enjoyable for what they were, and the game is still a classic.

Not particularly.
I've played and watched playthroughs of plenty of story games, some of which I'd genuinely call masterpieces of storytelling, and I still enjoyed the majority of the Endwalker MSQ. Would I call IT a masterpiece? No. It had it's flaws, imo the worst being odd pacing, uninteresting villains early on (specifically Zenos and Fandaniel for a fair chunk of it), and frankly a too long list of characters - too long to do most of them justice. But I still enjoyed the story overall, and I still actually like almost all of the Scions.
...and the one I don't like is Krile. So.

Aveyond, you're the one that often comes off as not being exposed to other stories or media a lot of the time because you have this insistence that things always have to be a certain way or they're wrong, instead of appreciating them for what they are and finding the good points in them. For instance, IX is my absolute favorite Final Fantasy. It is the essence of Final Fantasy for me. But I can appreciate that XIV is not IX and shouldn't try to just be IX. XIV is its own thing. Do I agree with every narrative choice? No. But there are a lot of things where that happens and it's fine if we don't agree but that isn't the same as being badly written.
