You should get a mapping achievement for visiting GM gaol.

Irony is a past Rising event many years ago had players actually go to an instance of the GM Gaol (Mordion) legitimately as part of the event (and met the Wandering Minstrel in there who was also imprisoned there - it's a long story) - and it had all the restrictions of the actual Mordion (communication other than say was disabled, you couldn't use teleport/return while there, abilities and items were also disabled.).

Alas there was no achievement specifically for visiting it, but getting the achievement for completing that event quest sort of qualifies by default.

The gaol restrictions did not actually apply (The minstrel even says the enchantments in the cell should already have worn off). When you enter the real gaol, your UI is disabled for everything but the chatbox, where only Say chat is available. If you log out/disconnect in the real gaol, the support desk is automatically opened for you when you relogin. In the event gaol, you had your full HUD and there were no chat restriction.

The chat restriction in the real gaol weren't even actually functional until SHB or late SB, you could simply use hotkeys to use other chat channels just fine.

Oh! Thank you for that clarification, the event was so long ago I couldn't remember clearly, and as I have never actually experienced the real Mordion personally (I've never had to call a GM or interacted with one, and I'm a good law-abiding kitty! ) so I relied on my terrible memory and second-hand info about it, which, is rarely completely right.

Neither have I, but there's been plenty of less fortunate souls posting their Ls on youtube. :P It was only until a few years ago when videos appeared where the chat features were actually restricted.
