If they added in unique features like player instanced housing you might get some people to come back and pay real money for the feature

What are you talking about? NA has the biggest player base amongst EU, JP, and Oceania playerbase atm. Ffxiv census is a thing.

NA is not American players only. Its home to the majority of players from Canada to brazil. America is just one portion of the NA data center. It also does not account for players not playing on their regions data center.

The ups between 5.0 and 6.0 were caused by Blizard's lawsuit and streamers like Asmongold. The game is not in a good state.

But in reality NA (which stands for North America and includes more than just the USA considering it's a whole continent and not a country) has double the players of EU and quite a bit more than JP. So no, US is not a small metric considering a big part of that number is from the USA. You should really look stuff up before citing random nonsense. Yes, it uses characters that have gotten the final endwalker story minion and mount. Which is a pretty good metric to use since most people don't make those private or even edit their lodestone. It's also the only numbers we have since SE doesn't provide numbers. It's not perfect but it paints a better picture than you, the person I responded to, or I could claim to portray.
