Like you have the tiny fraction that play FFXIV to begin with and then an even tinier fraction that are actually free to begin with and have no other plans for the holiday.

Those that do not play ffxiv do not have to be considered anyway. Its not your target audience.

And while i think that the US should be ignored, it is still a day that could be predicted well ahead in time. It was perfectly well possible for them to adjust the schedule by a week. There is nothing in this patch to which i can realy say that it couldnt wait. Even if it involved the change towards housing ward distribution, delaying would still have been fine on that (its still anoying ofcourse, but thats the current housing situation anyway).

No, it wasnt, and if you have any idea on how networks and systems this complex operate, you wouldnt think so.

A project this size isnt adaptable to suit one nationality or one persons holiday. Projects like this have a schedule, a plan date, a prep stage, a resource stage, and then execution which can take months to prepare for. id say the launch / implement date for this was determined long in advance..

The planning for this update may very well have started in JANUARY of this year, as the DC travel has been discussed for a very long time, and has been "on the boards" for probably a year or more.
