Maintenance starting in few hours, I wonder if the PvP rankings update before or after it.

Afterwards is probably the safest bet.

I have to work tomorrow anyways. People still get their dogs groomed on the 4th of July. For some reason. :V

And it's summer, a lot of people are also free around the world from work or school but they're not here complaining about it on the forum.
Making this about 4th of July is just weird lol, it in effect affects such a tiny fraction directly.
Like you have the tiny fraction that play FFXIV to begin with and then an even tinier fraction that are actually free to begin with and have no other plans for the holiday.

Many are in your situation too and have to work too.

I don’t see the point in this complain at all. Many people around the world have other national holidays or vacation and never complain about developer performing maintenance. If you have free day just spend it with your family, read book, take a walk – there is real life you can enjoy while your favorite game is “taking a break”.

I'm more than aware of the short comings, but to abuse people for where they were born and live is Elitist, you are acting like you are better because you were fortunate to not be born in a Nation Ruled by Fear, Bigots, Sexism, and Racism. Although unless you are in ... some made up fantasy nation, I am sure Women have fewer rights than men, the LGBT are still struggling for rights, and colored minorities and religions are being persecuted on a government level, even New Zealand and Canada have failings in these things.

Really which ones? I haven't found any game that is as good as this one. I tried a few and quit soon after FFXIV has tempered me and i'm in love.
