Maybe, but in any case just having enough people to make it come earlier rather than making it better would do it no good.If they had more than 4 people handling the 20 (+1) jobs that we have now I'm pretty confident things would be better than they are now.
Having more man hours on hand would allow them to better think things through rather than having to constantly make knee jerk changes only to have to go back and spend half the expansion cycle putting out fires.
Cards definitely seem like a prime candidate. Handing those out to everyone can be tedious and it definitely gets lost in some situations. Then you have people that get absolutely butthurt over not getting a card during a fight. I remember one bard actually broke into verse over it.Some change gone happen for AST in 6.2 not as big as they announced but some small change will occur.
I hope they at least rework the card system because in this current state it's clunky.
I don't think we will get cards with different effect even though i would love to see that (maybe in 7.0 ? )
I was really disappointed when they said it will be postponed but maybe for the better, they will talk in the next PLL what they want to do with for the rework of the class so we can give feedback before it happenMaybe there's a move to drawing group effects like in PvP.
They can add different effects to cards again if either they always have the damage+ on top of that added defensive effect... Or (probably better) moving damage buffs to minor arcana and letting the regular cards be only utility/defensive/healing aides.Cards definitely seem like a prime candidate. This would actually be great. Knowing SE though, they'll probably just consolidate the Minor Arcana and Crown Play buttons and say that was the major adjustment that took them a year. I don't think I've ever seen a good suggestion on the forums translate to the game, they just butcher everything.
I don’t think they have anyone dedicated to the healing jobs nor do I think it’s their first second or even third priority when it comes to jobs. The way they treat healers shows it’s not really a priority. It’s why I maxed out every other role. By far dps jobs are the most fun to play and have the best kits some even near perfect like red mage.
Even tanks who have the to protect the group also get real dps rotations and combos. Why? Shouldn’t they just be pressing their mitigation? Why do they get kits that shame those with their abilities and healers get nothing?
Fairy lilies cards addersfall? Simple Window dressing that needs to be entwined into the kit from level one to 90
I was really disappointed by this. I haven't really been happy with astro since stormblood. It's always been a busy class but it feels needlessly busy now compared to busy with a point back then. I was hoping they'd get rid of superfluous buttons and make it feel fun (which I know is very subjective) to be busy vs being busy and feeling like it's a chore. I was hoping to switch to astro for week 1 clears for the next tier if the changes were good. But at this rate astro & dragoon changes will be out only for the final raid tier of the expansion which kinda kills the point really lol. They'll either release it in a very weird state like monk was in before endwalker, and finish the changes in the next expansion or change stuff during the final raid tier.....just to overhaul everything in the next expansion.
Not a great situation to be in. But also having been playing since a realm reborn beta I'm very used to getting the short end of the stick as a healer from this development team.
at this point I'd just be happy to have a 1:1 copy of PvP cards:
aoe, non-shuffable, random
no targeting, less buttons, random effects instead of "Oops! all balance"
but looking at them wanting to eliminate every single variance in this game (like crit), I wouldn't even be surprised if we'd just use cards freely on cooldown instead of drawing at some point... (excuse the salt but as my go-to healer choice since 3.0 it's just sad play like this)
I’m coming to the sad conclusion that despite my affection for this game I need to look elsewhere because I love playing healers and love playing games that provide a great healing experience. Ff14 is not that game and it gets more apparent each expansion. It’s ok though I guess a game can’t do everything they were bound to lapse in some area and this is one of them.
Thats what am saying over 1 million times stormblood astro was perfect, it was a busy class but paid off in many ways, shadow bringers + Ew worsen the cards and make you do excess things for lil to no award, really whats so nice about some mere 3% 5% buff , sure its nice lady and lord got back their storm blood effects with better potency heal and damage but guess what remember it they was given 8% buff or 6% so we only got cheated more lol. The min I was able to log into EW I ran straight to grab sage and drop my globe in the glam dresser. I still love and respect astro but its nothing but a full time copied better whm with far better healing tools but its core power(cards) is garbage.I was really disappointed by this. That's the thing: it wasn't. And that is not on the player, that is on SE.Thats what am saying over 1 million times stormblood astro was perfect, it was a busy class but paid off in many ways, shadow bringers + Ew worsen the cards and make you do excess things for lil to no award, really whats so nice about some mere 3% 5% buff , sure its nice lady and lord got back their storm blood effects with better potency heal and damage but guess what remember it they was given 8% buff or 6% so we only got cheated more lol. They made utility cards that are situationally good compete for the same resource as dps cards that are always good and then made a shocked pikachu face when players fished for dps gain in a game that is so obscenely focused on moar deeps by their own design. And instead of improving that system to fit the game they designed, they deleted it and made it all balance.
You can't have utility compete for the same resource as dps if you want it to get used consistently and not just in some crazy early prog niche cases. Period. If any of them actually played healer more than every now and then in a dungeon they'd know that perfectly well. You can have utility. It just can't be on the same cooldown or utility will feel bad 90% of the time because you know deep down that it didn't make a difference while dps would have. And no system should low-key force you to intentionally play bad for more fun.
