No offense but that disappointment is a product of your own expectations. Why I prefer to just keep my mind open n clear til things are confirmed n such. Helps avoid feeling like thisI don't mind that the relic is tied to Hildibrand.
What I do mind is that I feel they picked the wrong expansion for it.
I wanted weapons of space and intergalactic dimension stuff. Maybe from the Lorrpits on the Moon and Ultima Thula. It just feels anti climatic that the relic weapons on the big saga conclusion could potentially be a meme.
Does this really matter? -_- Like out of all the possible things to complain about, is this really a problem? Doing a questline in an rpg to get a weapon?
Like, I have no problem saying that I absolutely hate the hildebrand/manderville whatever questline and characters. I watched my friend do some of the quests because he just wants to collect all the dances. I fundamentally have no idea why anyone finds it funny. I genuinely got second hand embarrassment watching it, knowing that this dev team and playerbase even thinks its funny. So I haven’t touched those quests on my own character.
But, I want the relic weapons because I like working towards things and collecting them. So now that I know this is a prerequisite, all I have to do is burn through a single questline, skip all the dialog/cutscenes I can, and boom. Relic weapon farming time. They gave people like me, people who haven’t even started the questline, a TWO MONTH notice. We have a TWO MONTH heads up to finish ONE questline.
It’s fine.
Who's to say it isn't tied to the Lopporit's and space.. there's literally a screenshot of the quest being on the moon.I don't mind that the relic is tied to Hildibrand.

Settle your expectations until we actually see the quest.
Hildebrand is a bit of an... acquired taste I suppose. Personally, I get a good bit of enjoyment out of it, but the story does have its highs and lows. I haven't done the most recent stuff yet, but that's on my to-do list.Does this really matter? -_- Like out of all the possible things to complain about, is this really a problem? The issue with tying the relic weapons to something as silly as The Gold Saucer is exactly that. These weapons are supposed to be cool, legendary, stunning, the height of whatever you believe a cool weapon should be, and yet as someone else stated chances are we'll be getting something like paper planes for Sage, so on and so forth.
That doesn't mean every design of every relic has been satisfactory or cool but the idea behind them was still something very serious. Now we have to backtrack and skip through a bunch of BS just to get a weapon we're not interested in. Which btw, this isn't how you get players to go back and experience a story that you put your hardwork into. As literally everyone in this thread is saying, "you can just skip through them" sounds pretty counterproductive if the whole reason you linked the two in the first place is so players can exp the story.
This also sounds a lot like we're not getting any expedition content, which is a major blow if you ask me. Not only was it fun, different, and otherwise engaging content but it provided a way for players to experience new open world zones that actually gave you stuff to do and nice rewards for doing so. Objectively speaking it wasn't a bad thing to have in the game, they simply just needed to fix it up a bit. Bozja fixed a lot of the actions and fate nonsense in Eureka but sacrificed the looks. If they could somehow get a proper balance of both, the next zone could have been really fun for a lot of people.
But alas EW seems to wanna keep this lighthearted tone of "adventure" going on. I'm all for dialing things back a bit and having FUN but once again, there needs to be a balance. They should have never went with the decision to link the two, if kept separate this thread wouldn't even be a topic of conversation and both parties would most likely be happy or mildly happy at the least. Hilde ppl get their new quests and relic people get their legendary relic free of any casual happy fun times.
some people keep forgetting that, this is a paid service......people are entitled to complain all they want and white knighting is usually not very well received, yes you can have an opinion towards certain criticism ....and 90% of the times is unwarranted, unneeded and it will find fierce resistance, yet some people want to keep pushing and pushing their narrative until is accepted as single and only truth, we need to stop that.

I cant wait!
And all their quests start to finish is still shorter than all the time and energy required for Bozja and the Queens relics.
Its going to be interesting what they come up with, Gold Saucer themed weapons?
Could still get something along those lines. It would fit recent events in the questline.I don't mind that the relic is tied to Hildibrand.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but it's also possible these are connected to Variant dungeons. Sil'dah is a very important part of the first Hildibrand questline.
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
Indeed it seems I misunderstood you, I thought you were replying to people who hate Hildi reassuring them it's only the prerequisite or something.
What you said makes sense.
It's a very niche type of comedy that either you love or hate. Like a friend said, it's like marmite.
People keep saying "light up, have fun for once", but they completely miss the point. I absolutely love comedy, but to me this ain't it. It's just absolutely not fun at all. For a lot of us, the questline is absolutely cringey and unbearable, and that should be respected.
on here people say just skip cutscenes, it's fast. On twitter just now I saw a meme about skipping them, and in the comments everybody was so angry, saying that absolutely nobody should skip them and to just have some fun and that people who skip cutscenes are not in this game to stay and should go back to WoW or something.
It's absolutely mental. No matter what you can't win. You're forced to do a questline you hate (and which some people have been purposefully avoiding for 10 years), but don't you dare skip cutscenes, you brute!!! And you better enjoy it or else we call the Yoshi-police!
