Every raid tier is locked weekly. Eden was too. And omega, and Alex, and coil.My FC has more than 8 players, around 10 this tier, but sometimes 12/15 trying to enjoy raiding.
With the requirement to have to unlock the raids weekly however, alot of time is sunk into reclears even when we no longer need gear. My FC has players who are in university and work, sometimes both. We can only really collectively raid in the evenings, and only for 2 or 3 hours each time.
Some weeks we get cursed runs because people are drained from work or their studies, and we are unable to get through p3s in our reclears, eating into our time of progressing p4s.
Though there are other reasons we stalled this tier, this is causing alot of pointless wastes of time and frustration, causing these players to just lose motivation and outright interest in the fights.
If i was to speak freely, this specific restriction is absolutely pointless and causes nothing but avoidable ridiculous frustration.
It is incompatible with people who have limited time that wish to play together. (availability clashes contribute to why)
Its stupid and has no purpose.
The chest reward limitation i can atleast understand, raid sellers prevent chest loot freebies after all. But this requirement to have to clear them all in order every week is just pointless.
I know there's obviously an objective the designers pursued with this. But they can be achieved easily with alternative methods and i'd welcome the chance to offer any suggestions in that case as a qualified designer myself.
But that being said, please rethink this limitation.
(eden was alot better, could just focus on the one fight you was up to, or the loot you needed)
6.18 will likely lift the restrictions on Tuesday.
The question then becomes why even have this restriction in the first place? Why not just let people unlock them once, and then queue into whichever they want after that no matter the week?
The time you spend reclearing is time you can't spend on progging the last boss; it's a timesink that keeps raiders busy for longer because you usually lose at least 1 evening per week on reclears, in more chaotic statics more.
And it also means that by having to them in order, the PF raiding scene is kept alive for the lower floors because forfeiting loot by skipping to a higher turn is a hefty loss until you're approaching bis and people generally don't want to do that.
It's entirely intentional and I can't even fault the devs for doing it. There is the option to skip if it's really important for a group to only prog a specific boss; whether it's worth the cost or not is up to them to decide.
