I don't have that folder anywhere in my PC and I still can't launch.Good morning and thank you for the reply.
For any one still experiencing the issue, could you try the following:
. Delete or rename the "etc" folder that exists within the game's installation folder. Please also check the game folder in "My Games" as well.
Below are the default locations for the installation folder:
- Standard Windows version -
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
- Steam version -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Because it's not a local issue. Steam is just overloaded in this case due to the steam summer sales. If you can open the launcher and get the error to try again later, just repeatedly hit the cogwheel and back arrow to refresh the login until it shows up. That's all you can really do in this instance.
