Why is player housing so coveted in the community?

Feel like 90% of folks that have a personal house dont actually use it once they finish furnishings it. They might fiddle with it couple times a year but for the most its down right useless to a single person unless they heavily rp or dedicate to gardening...

I'd use it more if there was more to do with it. If I could let my minions roam in my house, I'd come home more often to see what the little rascals have been doing (and making sure Mini-Bahamut didn't blow the place up with his adorable mini-Dalamud). If I could load back into my house whenever I came out of DF, I'd do it all from inside the house. If I could log out by sleeping in the bed in my house, I'd be logging out from the house. If I could run a store from my house, I'd be running a store. Etc etc.

There's a lot of amazing things they could do, but haven't done. Right now owning a house is just a cosmetic with a single function (gardening) attached to it.

What's stopping you?

You can plop down your retainers and people can buy straight from them but their sales inventory still shows up on the MB. There also also mannequins which can be used to sell clothing or sets of clothing. If you turn on sell as set they have to go to your house to buy it. Then of course there's the RP route where sales are done by direct trade.
