Why is player housing so coveted in the community?

You're keeping it open on the off chance that a random person will stumble in and use it. It has no actual purpose, you dont even use it regularly yourself as a private home. That's why it's wasteful. Do something actually useful with your house, please.

Tell people to come by then, almost everybody wants to meet somewhere other than housing. Doesn't help that the housing areas have horrible loading times, and the fact that it won't load you back inside the house. I find it easier to be in Outer La Noscea whenever I want to spam anything just because of how quick the loading times are...and this is with a PS4 Pro!

I'm not asking this to be passive agressive, or dismissive, etc, I am legitimately curious. Does player housing offer things people wouldn't have access to through the game? Or is there more to it? I have assumed that since it's such a coveted system, it has some sort of advantage that the game outside of housing offers.

The only reason for it is Gardening. The larger the plot the more garden plots you can have. People use those plots to make rare items or even minions and they sell for a ton. Some items require to have certain plants with certain soil for a CHANCE to make something. That rarity makes it expensive.

I don't think anybody has the right to tell someone else what is "wasteful" or not, and to do something "useful" with it. Now I have probably missed some context here, as I skimmed through, but anybody who has a house in the game can choose to do whatever they want with it, and should be able to do so.

As many probably have said it's for creativity(no time to read all while at work) the game is very stagnet with a lot of stuff, there's only 1 best armor and weapon for endgame per update, there's only set classes and rotations per your level, and there's only so much you can do per week.

The creative side shows up with housing where you can build your own inside an outside of the house to your liking and show off some. With SE supporting the glitching placement of items and I know some people use a mod to freely place items you can make aome very amazing things, and that helps breakup the staticness of the day to day life of the game, simular to how glamours help people differ when we're all wearing the same gear.

There's more to houses than just decorating. One doesn't need a desire to decorate to have a valid reason to get a house.

If you're just looking for something to decorate, apartments work. Island Sanctuary might work depending on how flexible/expansive the building placement system is.
