I think it's less that people cannot button mash fast enough, and more that people don't button mash. I'll admit that I once wiped the raid because I got bored during the lengthy cutscene and checked my phone and completely forgot about the button mashing part that comes later.

The only way you can fail any of these QTEs is if asleep or intentionally. Sounds like you just had some trolls who knew no one can progress and no one would know who to blame.

The cutscene comes after the mash and not before tho?
Before he sends you to the realm and then says like 3 lines, that's barely any time
AFTER is the long cutscene

I usually do arknights stuff in the mashing segment because it barely needs any lol

Tell them to turn their keyboard around and smash it on the desk, that'll get it through.

Or put the controller down and tell them to put their fingers on ABCD or X, Square, Triangle, and Circle and put muscle in all those four buttons.

I love this button press sequence, wakes up the people who can't do the bare minimum in this game.

Does everybody in that instance KNOW you'll wipe if anybody fails? Somebody may not be aware of that, and refusing to do it expecting a raise afterwards. I had it happen twice in a row one day in Trial roulette and mentioned that everybody has to succeed in that QTE, and it didn't happen again.

It's more in the middle of a long cutscene. Either way, it was long enough for me to lose interest in what was going on since I've done the fight so many times.

Pretty sure they were aware of that by attempt 5+ and still failing. Basically, they need to have the chains break for those that pass the QTE so that it shows who is not completing it. Otherwise, it is impossible to take action when someone does fail multiple times like this and locks people into the run. The only option is for someone to pull out on purpose or the entire group votes abandon. As much as I appreciate SEs stance on not singling out people, this is a case of someone using that fact to disrupt and cause issues for other players.

as a keyboard player, put face to keyboard and slide left and right

That was the preferred method in PUGs against Living Liquid

I'll add a vote to the "remind/notify people that any button on a controller or any key on a keyboard except enter/slash will work" approach. I didn't know that, either, for quite a long time and thought you had to keep the cursor over the button on the screen and click the mouse repeatedly. I could easily see someone with slower motor skills thinking that and struggling with that part if they didn't know they could just randomly hit keys instead.

I'd be happy if they stopped doing QTEs in fights at all ... But at the very least they shouldn't be wiping the party if one person doesn't do them.
