As long as we are talking about bosses, how do other monks handle Chimera? I have no problems until sub-25% when the floor goes wild.

We tank the boss at the NW corner of the battlefield, so I can't stand behind it (exposes me to sand traps) or stand at the left or right flank (exposed to breath). If I use guerrilla tactics, the traps catch me--there simply isn't enough time to escape, even when I move in just as the trap fires and hug the wall on the way there and back.

The current strategy is lay down and die as soon as possible in order to switch to ARC or BLM, but that feels a little defeatist to me.

The only reliable way for melee DPS to get into the fray at 25% is for him to be tanked in the middle of the field. This of course sets up larger problems for the Ranged DPS/Healer group due to VoTD.

We're going to be playing around with doing a full fight with kiting him around in tunnel worm blasts for shits and giggles. It certainly requires more skill than just faceroll burning from a single position. =/
