6.2 Hrothgar Update

Wouldn't the answer to that just be quitting then? Or at the very least drastically reducing the amount of time you play FFXIV? If you only care about the story content, you can enjoy an entire expansion's worth of content in 3 months and waiting for the last patch to do so. Buying 3 months of subscription at once is cheaper and waiting for the last patch means you'll like be able to buy the expansion on a 50% (or more) discount. You can safely enjoy the majority of an expansion while drastically reducing the money given to Square Enix (Yoshi-P already encourages people to take breaks and play other games anyway)

I just really want a posture toggle in the Aesthtician. It cant be impossible. They have the upright animations. I've seen it in cutscenes. I've seen the emotes. I don't care if they want to make Hrothgar stay bestial.

I did specify "If you only care about the story content". Even then, many gameplay loops don't require the players to stay constantly subscribed and Yoshi-P has even encouraged the player base to take breaks or try other games. Besides, if a race added at the start of ShB still has terrible/broken customisations, are they ever going to fix it?

I don't see both races can't use all head gear. Clipping didn't stop them with the Au Ra's horns clipping on most the head gear and looking bad. Maybe if 95% of player base quit they would fix the problem because that be a lot of funds lost.

Like ok? Super? What ARE these restrictions and WHY do they very obviously only apply to hrothgar getting hair or hrothgar and viera getting headgear (love the 5 hats hrothgar can wear that clip so atrociously into every non-Zlatan hair style its like "why bother").

Modders don't have restricions BUT they do not have the 14 teams resources either, much less manpower or training. The extremely popular hrothgar/viera hat mod is by 1 (ONE!!!) person who is still in freaking college, AND they aren't being paid to update said mod either, they just do.

If this is going to continue to be such a stabbing thorn in the devs sides, then the first mod they need to look at adding like they talked about in april is the hrothgar/viera hat and hair mods. Then they can never think about it again because literally everything in the game has been made to work for these races already by people who are untrained, unpaid, and do not even "main" hrothgar or viera, they just care about those players not getting needlessly screwed over every single patch.

This is such a lameass excuse honest to god like WE SEE them add new stuff every patch that just plain doesnt work, at all, if you dare to play a race from shb. There is 0 reason to not make every single new hat or hair work for hrothgar and viera but we have "oh its hard oooh they have to add a 2 minute solo instance to msq ooh its so difficult please understand" while two PLAYER RACES get the shitcovered end of the stick. Every single time. For YEARS.

It's a serious issue when modders are doing far better work than experienced devs.

Modding and implementing something officially server side aren't the same thing at all, it's kinda silly to compare the two.
The mods have a ton of issues too but even so.
It's completely ridiculous to look at what modders do and then hold it up against the actual devs and say that the modders are '' more competent '' or whatever, it just displays a fundamental lack of understanding of how game development works especially in MMO's and other online games.

Per usual people are SEVERELY oversimplifying things, just like they did with the housing situation last time when people were screaming at the devs and not even understanding what the problem even was.
Even after Yoshi-P came out and explained it in a fair amount of detail people didn't understand it.
There's a lot of complexities that modders don't have to deal with that the actual devs do, there's even less of an argument for comparing the two in online games than in a game like Skyrim for example.

I think that the amount of people who would actually be willing to sacrifice on other content for the sake of Hrothgar helmets or whatever is very low tbh.
This is a far more immense task than you're making it out to be, A LOT of work would go into it and they already struggled to even create Hrothgar to begin with and felt it was necessary to make these sacrifices to even make them a reasonable possibility to begin with.
It's easy to sit in your armchair and judge, but if you know anything about the history of this game and the work culture in Japan it's pretty crazy to act like they're just lazy or whatever.
They work incredibly hard, and if you think that they wouldn't love to give Hrothgar players what they want then I think you're very mistaken.
The reason why it isn't/ hasn't happened yet isn't because they're uncaring, why would they not want to make the players happy?

Some of you seriously talk about this as if the devs are not adding what you want out of spite or something too.
If they actually took on the task in this regard and other content suffered for it too then people would flock to the forum to complain about not getting enough content because their efforts were focused elsewhere too.
It's a no win situation, but the current situation upsets way less people.

"Why wouldn't they want to make players happy" well apart from the very obvious fact that they deliberately designed every hrothgar HEAD needlessly different just to screw over those players into paying for fantasia if they ever deigned to alter their characters design, an issue which 3 years later has STILL not been fixed, I think making players happy is very much NOT a concern the devs have.
"Sacrificing content" like ok so the people who design all the new gear and all the new hair options are also responsible for battle mechanics? What? If thats the case they need to hire more but I seriously doubt the team is that minimal. This isn't an indie game (...heh) being made by two schmucks in their parents basement for christ sake. This is the most successful mmo currently on the market, an mmo which charges you monthly for continued play.
Like please GOD explain to me why Yoship said that for Endwalker on, they would "spare no expense" because I very clearly see expenses being spared! Why is brand new shit not made with hrothgar and viera in mind? And do not tell me the Edward hat that clips so badly on every hrothgar hairstyle its practically invisible is them trying. Its not. Every one else can wear and use things designed to fit the head and NOT clip into nonexistence except hrothgar. Even what few hats viera get don't rip right thru their ears or vanish beneath the "Lyna" hairstyle.
There is no excuse, certainly not when the freaking director says "spare no expense".

"They didn't want to add another race" According to Yoship hrothgar was a race he wanted to add since Heavensward but ok.
And limitations shouldn't be an issue if the director of the game proudly declares they will "spare no expense" going forward with endwalker.
And I don't know why everyone who doesn't play hrothgar feels so compelled to shit on people who take issue with these things.
But ok enjoy your "human but my eyes are purple because the devs are so so creative"-tier race I guess.
