The mental picture I have of social media as a whole is everyone there trying their hardest to yell about something for the day. Then someone comes along and they're like "hey buddy, whutchu yellin about?" And the screamer is like "Today, I'm yelling about (insert issue here)". And the other person is like "Oh cool, I can't actually do anything about your issue and I want to have the illusion that I did something valid today, can I join your screaming?" And the yeller goes "Of course you can buddy. Tell your other friends and contacts to join me in the screaming" and then soon, everyone that they have gathered move away from the molehill that they were standing on, to now a mountain because they need to be seen and heard.
For that day, that is. Then tomorrow, it's a new thing because yesterday's thing is no longer trending.
So naturally, my cold dead heart continues grow necrotic flesh and the apathy that has born from it is now at a level where I should care but invoking the caring is hard
