Or you know, adapt your playstyle depending on the map? Shows a certain level of skill

My highest winrate is on the volcano map. Doesn't change the fact that its a garbage map. It also doesn't change the fact that the current map rotation design is absolutely awful. Playing the same map on repeat for 1.5 hours is not enjoyable.

They don't add anything other than an arbitrary force of using guard.

    ??

Different layouts as well as the environmental effects. Blackfeather Boost is *massive*, it's 25% more limit gauge. Making effective use of it is key to winning Cloud Nine, which also means denying them to the enemy. Meteodrive and Primal Scream gain more effectiveness on both environmental maps because of their ability to break Guard. Sometimes it's better to hold them for an upcoming environmental effect than to use them right away. Volcano map has bombs leave behind stacking 10% damage up buffs, maintaining and collecting these buffs is key to winning. Cloud Nine has a very open mid that makes it difficult to approach for certain teams, volcano has a mid with lots of pillars that makes it difficult for some ranged classes to maximize DPS.

They're good maps, and there's a lot more to them than just "lmao use guard here."
