Isn't the point of +crit rate to minimize chance?

Crit build is damage in bursts that might or might not happen.

Non crit build is stable flow of damage over time.

I'm risking stable damage for higher damage and HP restored.
When tanking, spike dmg gets enmity and HP back is always good.

If the crit attack power is high enough and crit rate is often enough, it may work out.
Although I'm doubtful, if the crit rate is over 35% I may opt for a crafted axe with double melded Savage Might to make the most of every crit.

Anyone want to lend me their Explorer's Moccasins?

How much extra damage do you think you actually do on a crit?

Between 50-100% more damage than a non crit, depending on your STR and Mob crit resilience.

Lowest you can crit is 115% normal damage, highest you can crit is 175% normal damage. Thundaga can break 175% though, but for 58+ (assumed boss level monsters) monsters you need 55+ crit potency/atk power to start criting for more then 115%.

Those percents are showing total crit damage, not additional.
I'll take his research and correct my rough estimation of 50-100% additional crit damage to his 15-75% additional crit damage. And although he did not test MRD/WAR I will assume the results would fall in that same range.

However, seeing that Thundaga breaks the crit limit, it may be possible that Steel Cyclone and/or Godsbane may do the same.
