    And even so I would still say that as far as class design goes, not even just healer, WoW is by far the better MMORPG.

    Just looking at healer?

    We'll take Priest alone. Tell me how another MMORPG with spec based design can make Holy Priest and Discipline Priest feel and play completely different,

    yet AST and WHM here in FFXIV functionally play exactly the same because SE can't be half arsed to make AST into a complete Heal over Time Healer now that its lost its hybrid identity of shield/pure healer simply because "learning how to HoT heal over burst heal is harder for the average player".

    All of AST and WHM's GCDs are the same for no reason. Celestial Intersection and Divine Bension are the same for no. good. reason. And AST already has been set up in future abilities (Exaltation, Macrocosmos, Earthly Star) to have a completely different heal style that the other healers do not have (delayed healing) why not fix the rest of its kit to reflect that?

    And that is just a small part of the issue I have with FFXIV's healers.

    And no. "Go play WoW" isn't an answer to the argument because

    1. AST and WHM actually play differently in PvP

    and 2. It doesn't fix the problem the game actually has: their class design needs work.

    I wouldn't care if dungeons were piss easy if I found classes in the game to be fun regardless of it.

    I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

    Said "professionals" don't even play the very role I main hence why it is garbage.

    And I'll also say that when it comes to praising FFXIV it isn't the gameplay people speak of. It is the story.

    Fact is, yes. I do know better about my role than they do because I actively play it, I actively main it and they do not.

    Professional gamer designers: Remove Energy Drain from Scholar, replace it with nothing and then take the faerie off the pet GCD making healing ANYTHING on SCH at 5.0 launch a DPS loss unless you do it within your Bio weave window twice a minute, get mad when the community demands Energy Drain back, moan about Scholars using Aetherflow on Energy Drain in later live letters because you don't understand how Scholar heals, nerf it from 150 potency to 100 potency so it's only a 10 potency gain over Broil III, then introduce 1.5s cast times on healer GCDs for weave windows and make Energy Drain even more of a DPS gain for some reason despite trying to make it as close to DPS neutral as possible back in ShB and also make Ruin II always a DPS loss to hit, leaving a once necessary part of your kit a vestigal button that you never want to press

    just professional game designer things. live laugh love energy etc

    I usually only run as a healer in roulette if I am in a bit of a time crunch and need the faster queue. I would love playing more of a support role but healers are just DPS with way too many heals.

    I remember not so long ago during Stormblood, debating with friends about how to improve SCH, and new exciting things we could get in the future, we wanted a more DPS buff oriented fairy. Selene was basically that with the speed buff, but things like DH raise, mana regen, etc etc.

    The ShB media tour worried us, and when the expac dropped, it was a real disaster.
    I guess it's a bit funny, that we wanted a 3rd fairy, but we ended up losing one. Or the point of having one even (give me my pet bar back ffs)

    There are so many cool things they could do with AST given its theme. Imagine AST having a bunch of HoTs that could stack with each other with an ability that "speeds up time" which will remove HoTs and heal based on the number of HoTs on the target. Something like Excog would fit in with the AST theme a bit more, basically hitting a certain health and "going back in time" to before the damage was taken essentially (I supposed Macrocosmos is the version of that).

    Yeah, like it used to be. Imagine if it had time compression (all hots deal all their healing at once) and time dilation (all hots and buffs have extended duration). That combined with the PvP version of aspected benefic would be so much fun
