Yeah I know some people enjoy female version on males, but I was expecting a sexy outfit that compliments the more masculine features… not just a copy paste of an outfit that was clearly designed with a female body type in mind. The male equivalent of those clothes was unlocked for females as well, so I don't really understand your point. Doesn't help that it's a lot of dresses which look stupid on most male characters, meanwhile the unlocked male stuff looks good on female characters.
The only converted outfit I can think of right now is the gold saucer bunny outfit, and that one is a disappointment imo since I expected it to be something made for male only as an equal and not a female outfit unlocked for males.

I think a lot of male players would prefer gear that actually looks good on their characters, rather than the female gear fitted to them just to make a statement.

Of course, yes. Some stuff shouldn't be genderrestricted, like the version of the pants/trousers from the gold saucer fashion report. Things like this should be 2 items, or include an option 'which' version should be displayed. But in general it's no solution just to adjust all the skirts und dresses and throw them on the male characters. Everyone knows, that this does not look so good, even if there are of course people who enjoy it. (That's totally fine, too) . :3 But most players just want fancy glam, that really suits the character model. And I really hope, that the dev team can solve that problem.
What’s funny too is on something like the Rydia tomestone healer glam, it wasn’t even really adjusted for male characters. They just said “yeah here’s a female character glam for the guys and they can go ahead and cross dress.” Gee….thanks?
We can say the same thing about fending and melee gear always being designed for male characters.

Well, that's what they do with all the male character cosplay sets on female characters. No adaptations, just the exact same thing.
Funny thing is that outfit does change between male and female, turning into a rather low cut tank top instead of an M shaped corset(?). The key difference though is that it's obvious when an outfit is "meant" to be worn by someone with boobs

I know, but that's a curiosity of fashion as a whole, rather than gear design in this game.
Why is it that clothing designed for a male body, refitted for female, still looks good while clothing designed for a female body and fitted to male looks like it is lacking the shape that the clothing was designed for?
Does this hold true across cultures and different dress styles, or is it a quirk of our specific approach to clothing?
