They won't. FFXIV will always be supported by PS4; After FFXVI is over they'll start (or continue) the groundwork for the next FF MMO that won't support PS4, but FFXIV always will.
Also, lol "discussions."
Haha. Windows 7 is def an upgrade compared to 10 and especially 11 (don't get me started and that garbage). Hell I still recommend 10 to every new customer I get at my store. I don't like 10 but it's not that bad. I use it daily at work. I mainly like 7 for my OWN PERSONAL niche reasons. The problem is, switching back from 10 or 11 to 7 would be an upgrade. Without any special exclusive things like DirectX 12 or Direct Storage 10 or 11 are way slower than 7. Windows 7 was also predictable, 10 and 11 are not. I had two identical PCs with an identical patch level. I ran Windows Update and one PC got some new updates, the other PC did not. And i have no clue why. Two days later the other PC got the updates too. Such behavior was not there on Windows 7. If there were new updates then the PC got them instantly.
So i can fully understand why the people refuse to install Windows 10 or 11.
Cheers
I do agree that 99% of PC users should be on 10 though especially if you are new to PC's or you are simply just a casual PC user.
For anyone who's wondering yes you can still run modern PC hardware on Windows 764bit and it runs great (by modern I mean 3080ti). No windows store bloatware, no apple style apps, no BS, just good ole' classic windows. The only "problem" with 7 is the lack of directx12 support. So you can't take advantage of Nvidia DLSS, Raytracing etc etc. But if you don't care about those features Windows 7 is perfect.
There is literally zero excuse to still be on Windows 7. That OS is end of life. It is no longer receiving security updates and its a massive security hole for any software utilizing it. Stop being stubborn and upgrade to your OS.Ahhh the classic "It's time to upgrade" comment whenever someone runs into a problem with Windows 7 haha. Aside from this error (not being able to log in to the game anymore) Windows 7 64Bit has always worked perfectly for me. However I do agree with that sentiment. As PC hardware sales man I would never encourage any of my customers to use such an old OS on their new PC's. I simply use Windows 7 for my own personal niche reasons.
Avoidy, I will give that thread a read, thank you.
This is blatantly false. Win10 and 11 use less resources than Win7 does.
Erm? They will absolutely drop support for PS4 just like they did with the PS3. 7.0 is getting a lot of graphical overhauls and I fully expect PS4 support to drop with 7.0 especially with consoles being one of the biggest limitations to the game which will be way less of an issue with the PS5.

Every time I see comments like this I can't help but wonder what people are doing to their computers. While I'm not a fan of some of the systems they put in newer Windows, I have had no problems with Win10. I think people just install garbage programs and over time it just borks their system. That or just run weird hardware that has unstable software or drivers.
But yeah, 5 different computers (3 desktops and 2 laptops) all completely different hardware and never had a problem on any of them.
My early days in IT were nightmare fuel seeing the level of garbage some people install on their PC's lol. Malwarebytes was a Godsend.Every time I see comments like this I can't help but wonder what people are doing to their computers. Yes, read that and follow the instructions for how to enable TLS1.2 on Windows 7. Doing that should be enough to get ffxiv working with w7 for a while longer.dunno if it'll help you, but this link has been getting passed around among other w7 users. maybe give it a read.

probably not much you can do though, yeah. good luck regardless.
Given that they dropped PS3 support for 14 just before Stormblood launched plus 11 had it's PS2/X360 versions dropped also, Square Enix have a track record of keeping existing MMOs going and dropping older console platforms. I don't see why they'd start again also given how much time/money launching a new MMO would require, you'd have no choice but to phase out PS4 support for 14 at some point before Sony cut off the ability to sell new games/DLC on that platform (which they've done for all their older consoles already).
It's ultimately just a question of whether or not it happens in 7.0 or 8.0. Given that they've already mentioned doing various graphical improvements across the entire game world, likely to start in 7.0, I'd say that's a good starting point for removing or at least signalling the end of PS4 support. If they go with 7.0, which is likely to be 23Q4 or 24Q1 based on the current patch cycle, the PS5 would've been on the market long enough for enough people to have upgraded.
