Tbh at this point I feel like new OS are '' updates '' lol.
They're just becoming more convoluted and feel more and more like Ipad OS.
I am having more issues on Windows 10 than I remember having on any of the old ones too.
Waiting for the day they drop PS4 support, that'll start bigger discussions on the forums.
Can confirm, the Easy Fix linked to through that Reddit page was indeed easy and a fix.
They'll have to drag me kicking and screaming into the modern age.
edit:
I don't know how well this analogy translates, but maybe some will get it. I think of Win7 as the last of the diesel engines made before tightening emissions regulations, with modern electronically-controlled fuel systems to provide good power, economy, and reliability. Sure it's got 12,000 hours and burns a little oil, but overhaul kits are cheap and it won't leave me stuck in limp mode with a plugged DPF or faulty DEF quality sensor. It's hard to get rid of something that just works and doesn't complain.

The problem is, switching back from 10 or 11 to 7 would be an upgrade. Without any special exclusive things like DirectX 12 or Direct Storage 10 or 11 are way slower than 7. Windows 7 was also predictable, 10 and 11 are not. I had two identical PCs with an identical patch level. I ran Windows Update and one PC got some new updates, the other PC did not. And i have no clue why. Two days later the other PC got the updates too. Such behavior was not there on Windows 7. If there were new updates then the PC got them instantly.
So i can fully understand why the people refuse to install Windows 10 or 11.
Cheers
I really hate how I have to keep my Windows 10 up to date in terms of updates. Otherwise, a single or a couple of updates will make the system much slower as a result for unknown reasons, and this happen on my laptop and PC but never ever did when I had Windows 7.The problem is, switching back from 10 or 11 to 7 would be an upgrade. I can't wait for Windows 13, which will be a hallway and people will hate it, only to develop a cult following in the next decade.
