    Why'd they make it a straight 100 potency DPS gain in EW over the 10 potency gain it was in late ShB if he hates it so much? Seems counter intuitive if he doesn't like it so much. Then again, asking Yoshida to understand how any healer jobs are actually played versus how he thinks they're played is apparently too big of an ask so I guess I shouldn't hope for him to understand why Scholar uses Energy Drain :|

    nope. even back then you could just make a macro on controller that had "/statusoff the whatever" a few times (and in fact that was preferable to undraw because you could use it while casting) unlike undraw which is ogcd

    cards Still give you a card drawn buff and you can still click them off in their current iteration

    undraw has been useless since its inception

    Not everyone is/was good with macros (or in general). The undraw was necessary for those who didn't use the macro, at the time.

    Even then, after that, well.. I go back to not being sure that they can remove it. It wouldn't be the first time they'd done something to back themselves into a corner of being unable to get rid of "it," although maybe not especially in the role.
    It also wouldn't surprise me to find out they just left it in there because it never really bothered anyone.

    That explanation for why they added it makes sense.

    The reason why it's still in the game is likely that they just forgot to remove it. We're talking about the same dev team that managed to turn Dia into a downgrade from the skill it replaces, after all. Removing Undraw would first require realizing that it's no longer needed, and then spending effort to remove it. That's precious brainspace that YoshiderP would rather spend defending his BLM buffs in long-winded Lodestone posts.

    Ya the point of undraw is really a baffling mystery after they decided to keep it for Shadowbringers. It kinda made sense back when it was the old system but even then, you had the minor arcana that could turn it into lady or lord if it wasn't anything you wanted. Now it's just there to waste space for whatever reason they wanted to.

    Undraw is absolutely unnecessary at this point, yes.
    Almost as if AST needs an overhaul.

    like i said we need to expand on our unique mechanics lillies, toxicon/addersgall stacks, fairy guage/aetherflow stacks, AST cards/seals

    fairy guage being able to provide a mini DPS buff at the cost of a draining gauge for example but by using aetherflow stacks you can refill the gauge even while in use

    lillies being able to be used for DPS options or providing a debuff to enemies that slows down the bosses casting bar allowing more time for double weaving for jobs and more time to make sure your shield healer has properly mitigated.

    addersgall stacks and toxicon stacks being interchangable. so if you need more toxicon stacks you can convert all three addersgall stacks into toxicon stacks so you trade off the safety of having "panic" heals/mitigations for more damage. also allow toxicon stacks to be used for a DoT that needs to be kept up alongside the base Dot which would always make getting toxicon stacks a valuable thing

    AST cards could go back to being unique even if it's just pink cards apply a group heal on application. or for example ewer would regen mana for the group, spire would add an extra damage tick to all damage dealt when applied to a person (so imagine you buff a BLm and every fire IV has another tick of damage that is 25% of fire IVs damage and buffs to damage applies to it). bole being a group regen. green cards could also just copy these but the bole version would be a higher single target regen which would promote using it for tanks. i would love for seals to be done similar to SAMs seals where if you get all three different you get the current buff we have, if you get 2 you get an high damage AOE. if you only get 1 you get a free draw stack. since this is theoretically the least likely occur it'd make sense to have it be not absolutely terrible but more so a consolation prize, letting you basically try again sooner since you had terrible luck. but it could also lead to some wacky strats since you technically get another single target buffing card for free which is where the fun begins XD.

    now once again there's more they can do, but i'd love to see the unique mechanics get expanded on more to do, more ways to charge them etc... i feel it'd be a nice way to balance out downtime with each healer having their own "minigame" so to speak like AST had with cards

    Fey Union becomes Kardia 2.0. Makes fairy heal the target when you deal damage (would honestly be more consistent).

    Fey Blessing gets put on a 30s CD

    Fey Illumination and Whispering Dawn get baked into Succor and Indomination.

    Aetherpact becomes a CD just like Soteria. They're literally the same thing.

    Seraph would probably stick around because they wouldn't know how to reprogram that.

    Energy Drain removed from Aetherflow, given it's own 3 charge system.

    There. The fairy is dealt with. Energy Drain is dealt with. Final nail in the SCH coffin.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
