    Except the "complex" job was there first, removed and you spare no thought to the people who liked it just because you personally didn't.

    I would somewhat understand the hypocrisy if there was a lack of simple jobs in the game, but it's really trending the entire opposite direction. There was already 3 physical ranged jobs, why give them a 4th one and leave caster players with just 2?

    And what if I can't find a job that is too my liking? I was happy playing SMN since 2.0 and now I'm told "To bad, go find something else to play." This was a big middle finger to player base regardless on it new players enjoy it or not. The could have just made a new job that plays like the "improved" SMN and kept the old SMN for people that enjoyed that.

    At this point I would say caster players only have 0.75 casters left to play. Red Mage is damn near as mobile as Summoner, and Black Mage's mobility is insane for a job that was once a turret.

    the class has many many more reworks in its future and people will be always disappointed do to what the devs did. this class changed made a split audience that would probably never heal. i feel like the only way to make both camps happy. is to revert the smn complexity(that does not mean adding dots back in). then make another caster that plays like current smn.

    Considering how much emphasis there's on dodging AOEs, BLM is perfectly fine with it's a balancing act of using your instant-casts for encounter-specific mobility and ideal rotation optimization.

    But yeah, it's kind of funny just some months ago RDM was the simple job everyone could pick up. Now it's seen as a bit too technical - I mean you can't just play whack-a-mole with your procs? Gotta spend 1 minute reading tooltips to figure out cast times and mana generation? Goddamn elitists.

    The thing I don’t get is. If we are going to inherit abilities that relate to the summon. Why not just have the summon avatar still around and be the one to use those abilities themselves instead of us?? I mean are we a summoner or a red mage? Is having a pet really that detrimental to the game or something?

    Honestly I think a simple solution to a lot of summoner's problems would be to have mountain buster, crimson cyclone/strike and slipstream on their own dedicated buttons that are on their own independent cooldowns. Being able to hold these abilities until they're needed or more useful instead of just blowing them each time you use a summon would at least feel slightly better. If they do that then they could add passives that interact with them better.

    I agree with you. I said many times I love how the ff7 remake summons work. They stay out for a bit and attack then at the end of the time limit they do their ultimate attack and leave. I wish our summoner was like that.

    Sounds like the demis that are already in the game, but you want the whole rotation to be that for the other summons too. I mean, that might be interesting, but I doubt it'll go that way.

    If Garuda/Ifrit/Titan stayed in the field when we call them and Gemshine were skills that come from the summons at our command instead from SMN himself would be good enough. Spend all gem stacks > summon goes away > can call next summon. That simple, in theory.
    IMO having a job that uses a book rushing to tackle and cleave an enemy is way too strange. Would make more sense if Ifrit did it instead, for example.
