The complaints arent stifled nor invalid.
But they are the minority like on every other forum for every other game.

It is impossible for a story that contains an entire world to contain EVERY SINGLE STORY BEAT within the entire timeline. A well written story DOES have parts the writers don't tell you, because it has things that happen that don't happen on screen but still matter. Because it tells the story of a world that has characters that still do things off camera.
So yes, if you are left caring enough about the off-stream stuff to ask for clarification... that can be a sign of a good story. Not always, but it can be.
I really don't think people straight up disliking the story, or at the very least being confused about major plot points is a sign of good story, but that's just me.
I mean, the reality is when you write a complex story that trends into moral grey areas and contains decisions that are very subjective in terms of whether they are 'right' or 'wrong', it is going to have a high risk of alienating some people. That being the case does not make it bad. It just means that they, on an individual level, did not resonate with the telling or the thought processes. The fact that we're ABLE to have these discussions is a sign that there was enough substance to have them about.
Whether we like it or not does not make it good or bad. Many people dislike things that are widely considered to be very well written, and many people like things that are drivel (see Twilight, for an easy example of that). This was intended to be a story that had a lot of things left unsaid. The fact that people react in different ways to what was unsaid is a sign that the decision WORKED. The fact that people cared enough afterwards to seek clarification is a sign that the story at least somewhat resonated. And that is, to me at least, a positive sign for the story as a whole - regardless of peoples' personal reactions to it.
Story kinda garbo tbh famalamadingdong, sorry not sorry.
How they managed to follow up Shadowbringers story with this miserable dreck is beyond me.
