After hundreds of hours placard spamming and getting railed by lottery today, the results are me quitting ff14. and devs giving FC's triple the amount of wards didn't help either

the last minute bidder must be ecstatic, the rest of the bidders, myself included are just looking at the hundreds of plots not even being touched in the FC wards and sighing with exasperated annoyance.

This is the way the housing system should work not having bots mann the wards auto clicking placards. I wish I didn't have to move from NA just to get a house but I did and am in a wonderful ward next to a MB. We decorated it like crazy and put 5 million gil into the place and we made most of it. Through trial and error we made a place we are very proud of. It was worth it to leave my good ping and move to OCE. Still today OCE's FC wards are completely empty except for the large ones they went fast of which mine is one lolz

Our free company lost out today, but we'll give it another go in the next round. I went to check whether my husband's bid for a personal house had been successful just a few minutes after the lottery closed and the winner had already put up a house and was busy decorating the outside area He'll try again next time too.

Hundreds of plots are not getting bid on at all, they weren't bid on first round, they weren't bid on second round, they won't be bid on third round.

And they'll likely get taken by Shell FC RMTers in the Fourth round.

I'm bothered that hundreds of plots are sitting empty and will continue to sit empty because someone at SE thinks there's 100,000 + FCs active on the entire datacentre but only 40,000+ active players

Hundreds of plots are not getting bid on at all, they weren't bid on first round, they weren't bid on second round, they won't be bid on third round.

And they'll likely get taken by Shell FC RMTers in the Fourth round.

I'm not so sure about that I will check and report back. I checked and you are partly right but around 20 to 30 small FC's were taken I'm from OCE foundation wards. To say that no Fc's smalls are taken is wrong by my observations. Multiple rounds are needed to fill the wards and newly formed FC's have a chance to get a medium if they are rich or a small for sprouts. I Like it, make a FC get a house, community needs to stop complaining ....Imagine a year from now all the new Fc's will begin recruiting and FFXIV's player base grows

Here's the full Math, You're welcome.

60 plots per ward, 18 wards allocated FC only, 5 housing districts = 60 x 18 x 5 = 5400
8 servers per datacenter group = 5400 x 8 = 43,200 plots across one DC group allocated FC only.

3 groups per datacenter (taking US for this one) 43,200 x 3 = 129,600 plots across the entire US Datacenter allocated to FC only

Now same math, this time for private.

60 plots per ward, 6 wards allocated private only, 5 housing districts = 60 x 6 x 5 = 1800
8 servers per DC group = 1800 x 8 = 14,400 plots across one DC group allocated private only

3 groups per DC. 14,400 x 3 = 43,200 plots allocated private across the entire US Datacenter.

Now...there is a great deal of variance to account for.

4 of the housings districts' wards 1-20 were on the old system prior to 6.0 allowing any buyer so several houses in wards 1-20 are likely privately owned

Wards 21-24 of the 4 Districts were released with a 2 week only first come first serve FC only lock meaning that several properties in W21-24 of the old districts are likely FC owned.

However there was a retroactive lock applied at 6.0 which over time will reduce the variance of the old districts.

But the math I feel speaks for itself.

There are not 129,600 Active Free companies across the entire US datacenter

There are more than 43,200 active players however.
